Most clients need around 2–4 sessions, depending on the starting point, desired density, skin type and how the pigment heals and retains.

Immediately after each session, the impressions will look darker, sharper and more defined. Over the following days, the scalp settles and the pigment gradually softens as the skin heals.

Typically, the surface healing takes around 7–10 days, while the pigment continues to settle over the following weeks. Sessions are usually spaced approximately 2–4 weeks apart, allowing us to see how the previous layer has healed before carefully building more density and dimension.

This gradual layering is what helps create a soft, realistic result rather than an overly dark or artificial-looking scalp.

SMP can be used for both men and women — whether the goal is to create the appearance of greater density through thinning areas, reduce the contrast between the scalp and existing hair, or recreate the look of closely shaved hair.

Every skin heals differently, so the number of sessions needed will always vary. It depends on your skin type, how your skin responds to treatment, and the age, depth, colour and texture of the stretch marks.

Some clients can see a significant improvement after 1–2 sessions, while others may need 3–4 or more to achieve their best result.
