Stronger, not smaller.
✦
Maybe we need to rethink what we’re actually aiming for.
Not a smaller body.
Not a smaller dress size.
Not constantly trying to eat less, weigh less or take up less space.
✦
What about being able to lift more?
Move with more confidence?
Feel stronger in your everyday life?
Trust your body a little more?
✦
That’s the kind of progress I want to see.
Because strength isn’t about changing the size of you.
It’s about changing what you believe you can do. 💜

There’s something about working out with other people that makes it about so much more than exercise.
Not because you have to be the fittest person in the room
Not because anyone is keeping score
And definitely not because you need to smash every session
It’s the little things…
✦ Someone notices when you’ve made progress
✦ Someone gives you a bit of encouragement when you’re not feeling it
✦ You have a laugh
✦ You turn up because you know people are expecting you
✦ You realise you’re capable of more than you thought
And sometimes, you simply enjoy moving your body more because you’re doing it alongside people you like.
That’s a big part of what I love about EmPower group sessions.
Yes, we work on strength, fitness and all the physical stuff.
But there’s also the connection.
The encouragement.
The chat.
The sense that you belong.
Because exercise doesn’t always have to be something you squeeze into your day on your own.
Sometimes it’s better when you do it together. 💜
Do you prefer exercising on your own or with other people?
And if you’ve been thinking about trying an EmPower group session, drop me a DM. I’d love to tell you a bit more and help you decide if it’s for you.

One of the best things about being a personal trainer is seeing the progress that happens quietly, week after week.
The better form. The extra confidence. The fact that something that once felt difficult now feels a little more manageable.
Sometimes my clients don’t even notice it. But I do. 💜
✦ A little client progress snapshot ✦
The improvements in form
Showing up consistently
Feeling stronger
Trusting your body a little more
These are the things that make me smile.
Because progress isn’t just about lifting heavier weights or changing how your body looks.
It’s about building strength, learning what you’re capable of and recognising your own little wins.
And sometimes, it’s simply turning up and giving it a go.
✦ No one way to make progress
✦ No timeline you have to follow
✦ No need to compare your journey to anyone else’s
Just your own progress, one session at a time.
That’s what I love about EmPower. Helping people find what works for them, with options, encouragement and a little bit of fun along the way. 💜
What’s a little win you’ve noticed recently? It doesn’t have to be fitness-related. I’d love to hear it. 👇

Strength training isn’t just about getting stronger.
It’s one of the best things you can do for your health as you get older — whatever your age, gender or starting point.
And yes, it can also help support your hormones, particularly through perimenopause and menopause.
While there’s lots of talk about strength training for women and hormones, this isn’t just a women’s thing.
Men benefit too — for muscle, bones, metabolic health, stress and simply being able to do the things you want to do as you get older.
Basically... strength training is for everyone. 💜
Here’s the simple explanation:
💜 It helps your body use insulin more effectively
Your muscles use glucose for energy. Strength training helps improve insulin sensitivity and blood sugar regulation.
💜 It supports your bones
Oestrogen levels drop during menopause, which can affect bone health. Strength training helps support bone strength.
💜 It helps maintain muscle
As we get older, we naturally lose muscle. Strength training helps slow that process, supporting strength, energy and everyday movement.
💜 It can help with stress
Exercise can support mood and help manage stress. And stress, sleep and hormones are all connected.
But here’s the bit I really want you to remember...
Strength training is self-care.
It’s time spent investing in your body, your health and the years ahead.
It’s not about punishing yourself for what you’ve eaten.
It’s not about changing how your body looks.
It’s about giving your body something it needs.
You don’t have to lift heavy or train for hours to benefit.
Something is better than nothing. Consistency matters far more than perfection.
You don’t have to wait until menopause.
You don’t have to be ‘fit enough’.
And you definitely don’t have to do it perfectly.
Just start where you are. 💜
Strength training isn’t just exercise. It’s looking after yourself.
💜 Have you noticed a difference in how you feel since starting strength training?
I’d love to hear your experience — pop it in the comments. 👇

How often do we tell ourselves we’ll start next week?
Monday feels like a clean slate
A fresh start
A chance to “get back on track”
But here’s the thing…
You don’t need to wait for Monday 💜
You don’t need a perfect plan
You don’t need an hour to spare
You don’t need to feel motivated
You can do one small thing today
Go for a walk
Get outside
Do a few minutes of movement
Book that session
Make your next meal a good one
Put your trainers on
It all counts
✦
And if you’ve had a week where things haven’t gone quite how you’d planned?
That’s OK too
No guilt
No starting again
Just pick up from where you are
Your next step doesn’t have to wait until next week
What could your one thing be today? 👇

Motivation is lovely when it shows up.
But it isn’t reliable.
Some days you’ll feel like exercising.
Some days you absolutely won’t.
And if you only move your body when you feel motivated, it’s very easy for a few days off to become a few weeks.
Instead, focus on making it easier to keep going.
Focus on consistency, not motivation.
You don’t need to feel like doing it. You just need to turn up.
Focus on small steps.
A 20-minute session still counts. A walk still counts. Something is better than waiting for the perfect day.
Focus on routine.
When something becomes part of your week, you don’t have to negotiate with yourself every time.
Focus on how you feel afterwards.
Not whether you were desperate to start, but how much better you usually feel for having done it.
And most importantly…
Stop expecting every workout to feel amazing.
Some will.
Some really won’t.
That’s normal.
You don’t need endless motivation to get stronger, fitter and healthier.
You need something realistic enough that you can keep coming back to it. 💜
So, if motivation has been missing lately, don’t wait for it.
Just take the next small step.

WELCOME TO EMPOWER 💜
Starting something new can feel a little daunting.
Especially when you don’t know what to expect.
So, if you’re joining us for the first time, here’s what you can expect…
💜 A warm welcome
You won’t be left standing wondering what to do. I’ll make sure you know where you’re going and what’s happening.
💜 No judgement
Whether you’re starting from scratch, getting back into exercise or simply trying something different, you’re welcome exactly as you are.
💜 A workout that works for YOU
I’ll show you what to do, explain the exercises and offer alternatives where needed. Your body, your starting point, your pace.
💜 Small group support
You’ll be training alongside a lovely group of women, but you’ll still get plenty of individual attention.
💜 A bit of hard work… and a lot of encouragement!
You might surprise yourself with what you can do. And yes, you may feel it the next day! 😉
Most importantly, you don’t need to be “fit enough” to start.
You just need to take that first step.
And once you do, I’ll take it from there. 💜

After a lovely summer, classes are back this Thursday — and I honestly can’t wait!
Welcome back to all my lovely EmPower ladies. I hope you’ve had a brilliant summer, made some lovely memories and enjoyed a little break from the usual routines.
Now it’s September. The kids are heading back to school, new routines are beginning and it feels like the perfect time to get moving again.
And if you’ve been thinking about joining an EmPower class but haven’t quite taken the plunge yet… this is your invitation. 💜

You don’t need to know anyone
You don’t need to have done anything like this before
You just need to come along
EmPower classes are small, friendly and supportive. We work on getting stronger, moving well and feeling good — but there’s plenty of laughter along the way too!
There’s no pressure to be perfect and no comparing yourself to anyone else.
Just women turning up, doing what they can, getting stronger and having a bit of fun together.
So, whether you’re coming back or thinking about coming for the very first time, you are so welcome. 💜
Let’s start this new term as we mean to continue.
