Helping women create options beyond the job they feel stuck in. Tiny Steps - Real Income - More Choice. DM for my 5 minute Social Worker to CEO story

25/08/2026

Every single time. šŸ˜‚

10 minutes until I need to leave?

Obviously that’s plenty of time to just quickly do one more thing.

And then I’m genuinely surprised when I’m rushing out of the door AGAIN!

Please tell me it’s not just me?! šŸ˜‚

23/08/2026

For a long time, I thought the things I struggled with were evidence that I wasn’t very capable.

Because surely someone capable wouldn’t be late all the time?

Or forget things she’d done hundreds of times?

Or need to write ā€œeat lunchā€ on a to-do list?

Or text her best friend because she can’t make herself sort the laundry? šŸ˜‚

Except I’ve realised something.

I’m not either/or.

I can struggle with things other people seem to find ridiculously easy AND be really good at other things.

I can need systems, reminders, lists and accountability AND run a business.

I can be chaotic AND capable.

One doesn’t cancel out the other.

Maybe you can too. šŸ¦“

22/08/2026

Sometimes my brain simply says NOPE to a task.

Not a difficult task.

Not a massive task.

Sorting the bloody laundry. šŸ˜‚

And I’ve learnt that telling myself to ā€œjust get on with itā€ isn’t particularly effective.

So sometimes I borrow someone else’s accountability instead.

I text my best friend, tell her what I’m avoiding and basically ask her to make me do it.

Then I’ve got someone to report back to when it’s done.

And yes, part of the motivation is absolutely that she’ll tell me how brilliant I am afterwards. šŸ˜‚

She also owns a Labrador, so apparently she has two of us to positively reinforce.

But here’s the useful bit:

If you’re avoiding something, try telling ONE person exactly what you’re going to do and that you’ll message them when it’s finished.

Sometimes my brain won’t create enough motivation on its own.

So I give it an external reason to start.

Whatever works. šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

Because obviously if Google Maps says it takes 30 minutes and I need to be there at 11am, I need to leave at 10:30am.

Simple. šŸ‘šŸ»

Except at 10:27am I’m still working / sitting on the sofa because apparently I believe the following things take approximately 3 minutes TOTAL:

Find my keys.
Put my stuff in my bag.
Put my shoes on.
Go to the loo.
Lock the house.
Get in the car.

And THEN I arrive at the other end and remember that Google Maps didn’t include:

Finding somewhere to park.
Parking.
Walking from the car to wherever I’m actually meant to be.

And this is the story of why I am approximately 10 minutes late to everything. šŸ˜‚

Please tell me I’m not the only ADHD woman who calculates journey time as though teleportation is involved at both ends.

I’m not particularly Wild.

I’m definitely not Fussy.

But I’ll take Confidence. šŸ˜‰

It’s refillable, aluminium-free, made like skincare and designed to tackle odour rather than just cover it up. šŸ™ŒšŸ»

šŸ’š Gingergrass & Lime
šŸ§”šŸ’š Or one of each

Then refills are £8 each.

I want TEN of these going to new homes for launch and number 1 is already claimed. šŸ‘€

WHO WANTS TO BE NUMBER 2?

Message me CONFIDENCE and I’ll add you to my preorder list. 🄰

ADHD and the shiny new thing.

I know this pattern VERY well. šŸ˜‚

I’ve had things I’ve absolutely loved.

Clarinet. Tennis. Making paper-cut family trees.

And then, at some point…I didn’t want to do them anymore.

So when I started my Tropic business, I wasn’t thinking, ā€œThis is it. I’ll be doing this forever.ā€

Quite the opposite.

Part of what made it feel safe to try was knowing I wasn’t trapped.

There were no sales targets I had to hit so if I decided it wasn’t for me, I could stop.

Because I knew what I was like.

Except here’s the bit I couldn’t have known then:

Three years later, I still love it.

Will I still be doing it forever? Who bloody knows? šŸ˜‚

But I’m very glad I gave myself permission to start on my own terms.

Because maybe we don’t need to know we’ll stick at something forever before we give ourselves permission to see what happens.

Sometimes starting is enough.

Now tell me yours: what random hobby did you get COMPLETELY obsessed with (and is all the equipment still sitting in a cupboard somewhere?) šŸ˜‚

If you have ADHD and keep telling yourself you need to ā€œjust be more organisedā€ā€¦

I have my ordering process written down.

I’ve done it hundreds of times. I know how to do it.

But knowing how to do something and my brain remembering every single step, every single time, are two very different things. šŸ˜‚

So I stopped expecting myself to remember.

I wrote the steps down. I follow them. Done.

And honestly, that’s what a lot of my ā€œsystemsā€ look like.

They’re not about turning me into an organised person.

They’re about making things simple enough that I can be chaotic AND capable.

Because if a system can remember something for me, my brain doesn’t have to.

Save this for the next time you catch yourself thinking, ā€œWhy can’t I just remember?ā€

ā€œWhy does everyone else seem to manage normal life?ā€

I didn’t know I was a woman with ADHD when my kids were little.

I just knew that something as ordinary as following a recipe could leave me overwhelmed and cross.

Every interruption knocked me out of what I was doing. And because I didn’t understand why I found it so difficult to get back into the task, I blamed myself.

Why can’t I just cook dinner without getting frustrated?

Why can’t I just cope?

What sort of mum gets this cross over an interruption?

Knowing I have ADHD hasn’t magically made my life less chaotic.

But it has helped me stop using those moments as evidence that I’m incompetent or failing.

And that has changed an awful lot.

If you’ve ever wondered why everyone else seems to manage ā€œnormal lifeā€ more easily than you do, know you’re not alone and tell me the completely ordinary thing that gets you every time ✨

Natural deodorant that actually keeps up with real life šŸ™Œ

CONFIDENCE is Tropic’s brand-new natural deodorant, and yes…I was immediately won over by the scents šŸ˜‚

šŸ’š Gingergrass & Lime
🧔 Blood Orange & Cedar

But it’s not just about smelling amazing.

It tackles odour at the source rather than simply masking it, while ingredients including niacinamide, panthenol and shea butter help look after your underarm skin too.

It’s aluminium-free, refillable, and designed to respect your body’s natural sweating process.

Easy to use. Effective. Gorgeous scents. And skincare benefits for an area we probably don’t give much thought to!

CONFIDENCE launches 24th August.
