Service of a little Colchester Student 1800 centre lathe & supply and fit an EMS MG232 scale assembly to the longitudinal axis with signal adapter cable to suit existing DRO. Cracking little lathe still going strong, oils changed and adjustments made where required.

Supplied and fitted a EMS 2axis DRO system to Colchester Mascot 2000VS lathe. Used the S1 slim magnetic scale on the cross slide and MG232 magnetic scale on the longitudinal axis, both scales are IP67 rated coolant/dust proof & also these scales are industrial grade. The display is the EM750 2axis LCD display with a wide variety of functions for turning upto 48 tool options (Tool offset).

Service of X2 Colchester master 2500 centre lathes,
These lathes are still in good condition keeping up with the maintenance, changed oils in all gearboxes including headstock, couple of adjustments made on each regarding the gib strips etc.

EMS Magna Slim Scale Assembly

This scale assembly is a magnetic tape scale with the small extrusion making it suitable for a wide variety of machinery hobby/industrial. This scale is designed to fit onto machinery where space is limited, ideal for the cross slide of a small lathe, small milling machines.
In this kit you will receive the EMC14 mini magnetic encoder, bracketry, extrusion, magnetic tape & cover strip, Scale cover/guard. The tape is a non stick type, slides through/into the extrusion with a small piece on one end to clamp the tape in place. The scale assembly is developed & made in India by Electronica. AMTS (NW) LTD is a main UK agent for Electronica, you will receive British technical support if required, after sales service. Demonstrations of how the scale works are welcome in our workshop.
