This is an area where understanding the anatomy beneath the skin is incredibly important, particularly around the infraorbital region, where important vessels and structures are present.
Having a complication in this region can be very problematic!

The infraorbital area is also a particularly concerning location for complications, which is why knowing exactly where we are in relation to the underlying anatomy matters.

With ultrasound, we can scan, identify and map the anatomy before and during treatment, helping us to make more informed decisions about where and how we inject.

It’s not simply about putting filler into the cheek and midface........ it’s about understanding the individual anatomy beneath it and treating accordingly.

In this video, you’ll see me scanning the temples and what we can actually see beneath the skin.

You’ll see the black-and-white ultrasound images, followed by colour flow imaging, which allows us to identify the two main arteries we’re looking for in this area.

The temples are one of the higher risk areas in aesthetics because of the important blood vessels within this region.

Ultrasound allows us to visualise, map and understand the anatomy before we inject, rather than relying purely on "landmarks"!
