Sunekos is one of the treatments we can offer most patients, which is exactly why the exceptions are worth saying out loud.
We do not treat during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Not because there is a known problem, but because these treatments simply are not tested in pregnancy, so we wait.
We also will not treat over an active skin infection or inflammation in the area, and not at all if you have a known allergy to any component.
Beyond that, most people are suitable.
Which is not the same as most people needing it. If your concern is lost volume rather than skin quality, or if something else would serve you better, we will tell you that at the consultation rather than after it.
Part 7 of our Sunekos series.
Consultation £50. Patients aged 18 and over.
One session of Sunekos will not do what most people are hoping for, and we would rather you knew that before booking.
It is a course. Three to four sessions, spaced roughly seven to fourteen days apart. Younger skin usually needs three. Older skin, or skin with more laxity, usually needs four. We will tell you which at the assessment.
What happens when: hydration and a little radiance within the first few days, texture and elasticity developing over the following weeks, and the full effect building over two to six months.
Results generally last around six months, so most patients return for maintenance somewhere between four and six months later. That is a single session rather than another full course.
Budget for the course rather than for one appointment. Booking one and stopping is the most common way people waste money on this treatment.
Sunekos Performa for the face is £250 per session and Sunekos 1200 for the face is £300.
Part 6 of our Sunekos series.
Consultation £50. Patients aged 18 and over.
Sunekos appointments take thirty to forty-five minutes, and most of that is not the injecting.
Most of it is assessment, numbing and planning where the product goes. The treatment itself is the short part.
Afterwards, skin usually recovers within hours. You may have slight swelling or a bruise at the injection points, and under the eyes that tends to show more simply because the skin there is thinner.
So it is a treatment you can have and return to your day. We would still not book it for the morning of something that matters to you.
Anything that worsens rather than settles, or any pain that is out of proportion, ring the clinic. Do not wait it out.
Part 5 of our Sunekos series.
Consultation £50. Patients aged 18 and over.
Worth asking your injector whether they are using a needle or a cannula, because with this treatment it can change how your week looks.
A cannula is blunt-tipped. Rather than multiple entry points, it goes in once and moves through the tissue, which generally means less bruising and less swelling afterwards.
With Sunekos 1200 in particular, which is the thicker of the two products we use, a cannula is usually the better tool.
That is not to say needles are wrong. Different areas need different techniques and some are better done with a needle.
The point is that it should be a decision someone has made about your face and your treatment area, rather than a habit.
Part 4 of our Sunekos series.
Consultation £50. Patients aged 18 and over.
There is more than one Sunekos, and using the wrong one in the wrong place is the most common mistake we see with this treatment.
Sunekos Performa is the one we use under the eyes. The skin there is the thinnest on the face and it needs a product formulated for it.
Sunekos 1200 is a thicker product. We use it across the full face, and it is not one we would place under the eyes.
Which means if a clinic quotes you a single price for "Sunekos" without asking which area you want treated, they have not thought about it properly.
At Skinfinity, Performa for the face is £250 a session and Sunekos 1200 for the face is £300. Which one you need is decided at the assessment, not at the till.
Part 3 of our Sunekos series.
Consultation £50. Patients aged 18 and over.
Hydration, glow and crepey skin. That is what Sunekos is for, and here is what it actually does.
It is a combination of amino acids and hyaluronic acid, and the two parts do different jobs.
The hyaluronic acid is the hydration. Most patients notice their skin looking better hydrated and brighter within the first few days, which is the part people mean when they say glow.
The amino acids are the part that matters for crepey skin. Amino acids are what your body builds collagen and elastin from, so rather than placing something in your face, this hands your skin the raw materials to rebuild with. Texture and elasticity improve over the following weeks, and the full effect builds over two to six months.
It is also not only a face treatment. We use it under the eyes, on the cheeks and forehead, around the mouth, and on the neck, décolletage and hands, which are the areas that show crepiness first and get treated least.
One honest caveat. Sunekos is not a filler and it will not change your shape. If your concern is lost volume rather than the quality of the skin itself, this is the wrong treatment and we will tell you so at the consultation.

Treating lips at 45 is a different job from treating them at 25, and most clinics approach both the same way.
Here is what actually changes with age. The border of the lip softens and loses its edge. The upper lip lengthens. The volume that remains sits lower than it did.
Which is why the standard approach fails on an older lip. Adding volume to a lip that has lost its border does not restore the lip you had. It gives you a longer, fuller lip, which is exactly the result nobody wants and exactly why so many women over 40 decide this treatment is not for them.
Definition comes first. On a lip like this, redefining the border and supporting the corners usually does far more than filling ever would, and it uses less product.
Almost every patient over 40 who sits down with us says a version of the same thing. She wants her mouth to stop looking tired. She does not want anyone to be able to tell.
So: small amounts, placed precisely, reviewed at two weeks, and added to only if it is genuinely needed. Most first-time patients need 0.5ml.
And sometimes the answer is no. If your concern is fine lines around the mouth and dryness rather than lost shape, filler is the wrong treatment and there are better options. We will tell you which.
This did not stop being for you at 40. The job just changed, and most clinics have not caught up with that.

Sunekos is not filler, and it is not designed to change your shape. If that is what you are after, this is the wrong treatment and we will say so.
It is a combination of amino acids and hyaluronic acid. Amino acids are what your body builds collagen and elastin from, so this is closer to handing your skin the raw materials than to placing something in your face.
What it helps with is quality rather than volume. Hydration, texture, fine lines, and skin that has gone dull or crepey.
It is also not only a face treatment. We use it under the eyes, on the cheeks and forehead, around the mouth, and on the neck, décolletage and hands.
If your concern is lost volume, Sunekos will not fix that. If your concern is the quality of the skin itself, this is the right conversation.

Filler can be dissolved. Julaine cannot. That is the difference that matters most, and it is the one almost nobody leads with.
Hyaluronic acid filler adds volume on the day. It sits under your skin as a gel, you see the result before you leave, and if you are unhappy with it a prescriber can dissolve it with an enzyme and it is gone.
Julaine is poly-L-lactic acid. It adds almost nothing on the day. It works by prompting your own skin to build collagen over the following months. And there is no enzyme that reverses it. It breaks down on its own timescale rather than on yours.
That is not a reason to avoid the treatment. It is the reason the assessment matters far more here than it does with filler, and it is why we will not treat anyone without a proper consultation first.
The simplest way to think about it: filler changes shape, a biostimulator changes quality.
If you want a defined lip or a lifted cheek today, that is filler. If you want your skin behaving better in six months, that is this. Some patients need both, some need one, and some need neither.
Which of those you are is a consultation question, and getting it wrong here is harder to undo than getting it wrong with filler.

If there is a firm shelf sitting above your lip line, that is not swelling. The filler has migrated.
Migration is one of the most common reasons patients come to us, and almost nobody talks about it.
What it looks like: a ridge above the lip border, a cupid's bow that has lost its shape, lips that read as filled even when your face is completely relaxed.
Why it happens: too much product placed at once, filler placed in the wrong layer, or a top-up booked before the previous treatment had broken down. It is rarely the product and almost always the plan.
The part people get wrong is waiting. Filler sitting in the wrong place does not migrate back. It stays where it is until it is either broken down naturally over months, or dissolved.
What we do about it: assess it properly first. Often that means dissolving what is there with a prescription-only enzyme, letting the tissue settle, and then rebuilding conservatively only if you still want to. Sometimes the honest answer is to dissolve and leave it.
Two things worth knowing. Dissolving is a prescriber's job, so ask any clinic whether they hold the enzyme on site and who is qualified to use it. And you do not have to go back to whoever did the original treatment. Correction is a treatment in its own right, and most of the people we do it for came from somewhere else.
Bring it to a consultation and we will tell you honestly what can be undone and what cannot.
