Consistency is one of the most important parts of a good skincare routine but that doesn’t mean using exactly the same products forever.

Our skin is constantly changing.

We age.
Our hormones change.
The seasons change.
Our lifestyles change.
And the skin concern we started treating may change too.

A routine that was perfect for your skin a year ago might need a little adjustment now and that doesn’t always mean starting again. Sometimes it’s simply switching a product, introducing a new active or changing a formulation.

It’s also one of the reasons I’ve gradually expanded the skincare brands I offer at Palm Tree.

A little reminder to myself as a business owner… 🌴

One of the biggest lessons in running a business? You won’t please everyone.

And when you care deeply about what you do, that can be difficult not to take personally.

But not every difference of opinion needs resolving. Sometimes you can listen, remain professional, agree to disagree and move forward.

Especially when you work with skin.

Skin is complex. Every patient is different. Every journey is different. Results, timeframes and expectations differ too. There is no one-size-fits-all approach, which is exactly why experience and professional judgement matter.

After years in this industry, I’ve also learnt the importance of knowing the value of what I do.

A patient isn’t simply paying for the time spent in my treatment room. They’re paying for the years of experience behind it, the continued education, the knowledge, the time, care and thought that goes into every recommendation I make.

And I’m comfortable standing behind that.

Running a business will always come with opinions — good and bad. One unhappy person doesn’t define you, just as one difficult conversation doesn’t erase the hundreds of positive ones that came before it.

So I come back to what matters.

My values. My ethics. My experience. And the reason I started Palm Tree in the first place.

To be honest with my patients.
To never overpromise.
To keep educating myself.
And to provide the very best care I can.

Palm Tree has evolved enormously over the years, but those things haven’t.

I love skin. I love what I do. And I’m incredibly proud of the business I’ve built. 🌴🫶

WISH has landed at Palm Tree 🌴

And I think I may already have a favourite… Azelify.

As with all skincare products, not all azelaic acids are created equal. The percentage is only part of the story ~ the overall formulation, supporting ingredients and how a product sits within the rest of a skin plan all matter too.

Azelify combines 10% azelaic acid with L-glutathione and beta glucan, and this is one of the products within the WISH range I’ve been particularly excited to get my hands on.

I’m already a big fan of azelaic acid and use it regularly within my approach to breakout-prone, congested and uneven skin, so I’m really looking forward to exploring this formulation and exactly where it will sit within my protocols.

My full WISH training is now underway, and once that’s complete I’ll also start reviewing my ongoing skin plans. For some of my existing patients, that may mean adding or switching a product where I feel something from the WISH range could strengthen what we’re already doing.

Because a skin plan should never just be set and forgotten ~ as your skin changes, we adapt.

And I’m very excited to start introducing this little powerhouse where it’s the right fit. 👀🌴

Self-care looks different for everyone and sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself is simply slow down and enjoy where you are.

Everything else can wait until Monday. 🌴🤍
