A little hidden gem in Warwick town centre.

Wylie's Tearooms is known as Warwick's oldest and longest-established tearoom, operating for over 35 years in a historic 16th-century building.

It features a nostalgic, quirky 1940s retro feel functioning like a historical time capsule, complete with vintage decor, knick-knacks, and traditional china teacups.

St James Church is in Old Milverton village. The current church was built in 1880, but this has been a place of worship for nine hundred years. Our churchyard sits on footpaths that run across to Leamington and down to the River Avon at the Saxon Mill, Warwick: a lovely place to stop and relax on a sunny day, to take in the views and soak up the peaceful atmosphere.

The church was named for St Dunstan, a 10th century monk with a colourful past. He survived brushes with black magic, leprosy, and the Devil himself to become Archbishop of Canterbury. The church, following his example, boasts its own difficult history.
Originally built around 1100 and is a Grade I listed building. A new south aisle was added in 1391 and was repaired in 1631. It was severely damaged in 1666 by the Great Fire of London. Rather than being completely built it was patched up. A steeple and tower was added in 1695-1701 by Sir Christopher Wren.
The church was again severely damaged in the Blitz of 1941. Wren's tower and steeple survived the bombing. It was decided not to rebuild St Dunstan’s.

Originally constructed around 1100, this historic parish church survived the Great Fire of London and was later enhanced with a spectacular Gothic-style steeple designed by Sir Christopher Wren. However, the building was largely destroyed during the Blitz in World War II. Rather than rebuilding it, the City of London transformed the bombed-out ruins into a secluded public garden in 1970.

A permanent reminder of the Great Fire of 1666, the Monument commemorates one of the most famous events in London's history. Standing regally on the piazza between Fish Street Hill and Monument Street, the 202ft column designed by Sir Christopher Wren and Dr Robert Hooke, celebrates the City which rose from the ashes. The Monument invites you to climb its 311 spiral steps and enjoy one of the best views over the City.

Historically tied to the second harvest, ancient and modern traditions celebrate the gathering of crops, give thanks for abundance, and prepare for the colder months ahead.
