💰EXPENSIVE..... OR JUST DIFFERENT?👛

“That’s too expensive. I can get something similar much cheaper.”

I often get told this when I'm talking about skincare at Fayre's and events.

And do you know what? I completely understand. We all have a budget, and sometimes we simply can't justify spending more. BUT there is something I think we often forget when we're comparing prices…you have to compare LIKE FOR LIKE 🌱

🚗If I told you I could get you a car for £8,000 instead of £50,000 what will you say?...you will laugh at me and say, “Well yes… but they aren't really the same thing!” 😂

You wouldn't compare a little runaround with a Porsche and simply say the Porsche is “too expensive” because you know you are getting something totally different for your money. Most things are the same including skincare.

A £10 cleanser and a £30 cleanser will probably both say cleanser on the bottle, but that doesn't necessarily mean they're comparable products...you need to look at ....

What are the ingredients?
How concentrated is it?
How much do you actually need each time?
How long does the product last?
What is it designed to do?
And what are you actually getting for your money?

Sometimes the cheaper one really is the better choice for your budget — and that's absolutely fine.

But sometimes we buy the cheaper option because of the price tag, only to find we need more of it, replace it sooner, or don't get the results we were hoping for.

And then that “cheaper” product doesn't seem quite so cheap after all.

So instead of saying.....

“How much does it cost?”

Maybe ask yourself.....

“What am I getting for my money?”

AND...

How long will it last!

So, when someone tells me they use a much cheaper skincare brand, I don't tell them they should change it
I'd much rather ask:

“Are we comparing like for like?” 💚

There's a difference between cheap and good value
and there's a difference between expensive and worth it.

Just something to think about next time you're comparing two products. 😉
