💚 THINGS I WISH WE COULD NORMALISE IN THE HAIR INDUSTRY…
Before anyone gets the wrong end of the stick, this isn’t me having a moan! 😂
And it’s certainly not aimed at our clients at Hunters, because the support, loyalty and respect we receive is absolutely incredible, and I’ll never take that for granted. ❤️
This is about the hairdressing industry as a whole and some of the double standards we still face.
Things that are completely accepted in other professions somehow become a problem when it comes to hairdressing.
And this one’s for the keyboard warriors who are always quick to tell hairdressers what they should and shouldn’t be charging! 👀
We’re not saying other industries charge too much. We’re simply asking why hairdressing is so often expected to charge less.
Years of training, skill, experience, investment and hard work go into what we do.
We love our jobs, but that doesn’t mean our time and expertise should be valued any less.
Hairdressing is a profession, a career and a livelihood. And it’s about time it was recognised as one. 💚
Swipe through and let me know your thoughts…
And to our Hunters clients, thank you for always supporting us. You’re the reason we love what we do! ❤️

😂✂️ THINGS OUR CLIENTS SAY… AND WHAT WE’RE ACTUALLY THINKING! 👀
Honestly, you lot crack us up! 🤣
Most days it feels more like catching up with friends than actually working!
The gossip, the laughs, the life updates… we genuinely reckon we could write a bestseller with some of the stories we’ve heard! 📖😂
And we wouldn’t have it any other way! 💚
Go on then… which one are you guilty of? 😂
P.S. What happens in Hunters stays in Hunters! 🤫💚

❤️ The girl I was at 19 had no idea of the woman she’d become…
They say women often find deeper confidence around 38, begin a new chapter around 42 and experience some of their happiest years between 46 and 65.
And the older I get, the more I understand why. ❤️
✨ Me at 19…
A little wild, ambitious, full of dreams and a massive people pleaser! Always wanting to make everyone happy, often forgetting about myself along the way.
🤍 Me in my mid-20s…
Moved back to Lampeter, started from scratch and began finding my feet again. A fresh start and a chance to get to know a new version of me.
🌸 Me in my early 30s…
Still ambitious, still saying yes to far too many things and still trying to please everyone. But slowly starting to realise that my happiness mattered too.
Then at 34, I became a mum… and that really was a game changer. ❤️ My priorities changed, my outlook changed and I began to see life a little differently.
❤️ And me today…
A little older, a little wiser and more comfortable in my own skin than ever before.
Still ambitious, still dreaming big, but finally learning that it’s okay to say no, to put myself and my loved ones first and to focus on what truly matters.
One of the things I love most about my job is inspiring other women to find their confidence, believe in themselves and follow their dreams. Because it’s never too late to become the woman you want to be. ❤️
Looking back, I’m proud of every version of me. Each one has taught me something and brought me to where I am today.
And the best part? I genuinely believe my best chapters are still ahead of me. ✨
So to any woman still finding herself, building her confidence or wondering if she’s left it too late…
Darling, you’re not behind. You might just be right on time and exactly where you need to be. ❤️
❤️ World Mental Health Day ❤️
I might upset a few people with this, but here goes…
We shouldn’t need a day to remind us about mental health. We should be looking out for each other every single day!
Sometimes I think we need to go back to the old-school days…
❤️ Back to when people actually spoke to each other instead of hiding behind fake profiles, typing nasty comments on Facebook without thinking how their words might affect someone.
❤️ Back to when neighbours helped neighbours, not because they wanted anything in return, but simply because it was the right thing to do.
❤️ Back to when our children could play outside and we knew someone was always looking out for them.
❤️ Back to when you could knock on someone’s door for a cuppa and a chat, and people actually noticed when someone wasn’t quite themselves.
I remember my first job at Terry’s Pizza when I was just 13. Terry used to give so much away for free, and I remember once saying, “But he’s already had a free breakfast last week!”
And the answer was simple…
“If you can make one person smile, then why not?” ❤️
At 13, I probably didn’t understand it, but looking back now, what a lovely lesson to learn so young. It wasn’t about money or wanting anything in return. It was just about being kind.
I’m not saying mental health struggles didn’t exist back then, because they did. But somewhere along the way, we’ve lost that sense of community.
We’ve got hundreds of Facebook friends, yet some people have nobody to turn to.
We’ve got people preaching kindness one minute and tearing others apart behind a keyboard the next.
You never know what someone is going through behind closed doors.
So instead of sharing a post for one day, let’s start looking out for each other every day.
Check on your neighbours, help someone without expecting anything back, teach your children kindness and think before you speak.
Maybe it’s not the old days we need back… maybe it’s the old values. ❤️

10 years ago today, I experienced my first ectopic pregnancy. 🤍
It feels strange looking back and realising just how much life has changed in those 10 years.
We move forward. We find joy, purpose and hope again. But some experiences never completely leave us they become part of our story. They change us, strengthen us and show us just how strong we really are.
That experience became the beginning of a journey that eventually led me to my little man. ❤️ And when you become a mum, something changes inside you. That fierce protector appears, and you realise you’ll do anything you can to give them the best life possible.
People say everything happens for a reason. I’m not sure there ever needs to be a reason for losing a pregnancy, but when I look back at where my journey has taken me and the woman and mum I’ve become, I kind of understand the sentiment a little more.
I recently read about how cells from a pregnancy can remain in a mother’s body for years afterwards, and there’s something so comforting about knowing that even those we carried for such a short time can leave something of themselves behind. 🤍
So today, 10 years on, I remember.
And for anyone experiencing pregnancy or baby loss right now what you’re feeling today won’t always feel this heavy. You are stronger than you realise. 🕊️
In October, we remember. 🩷🩵
For those who were only here for a moment.
For those who never arrived in our arms.
For those who arrived but couldn’t stay.
And for those who stayed for far too short a time. 🤍
