The burning question?
What is raw Slavic hair? It’s hair predominantly sourced from Eastern European countries where an individual donor is paid in return for their ponytail. This is the most ethical way to source hair in this day and age meaning the donor gets paid a fair wage for the hair. The hair is in its ‘raw’ form so it’s completely natural, virgin hair that’s not had any colour or chemical processing. This means that when the hair reaches me I can make the decision on how I would like to custom colour the hair to match my clients colour. Because the hair is from only one person that means the texture and cuticle alignment will be as they would on your own head.
So why choose single donor hair?
Many reasons this could be the most suitable option would be if you have naturally wavy or curly hair and you want to have the option to wear your hair in its natural state. This means that ever if you were to heat style it, it will always maintain the same texture as your own hair because it’s been matched to the extension hair.
It’s also a brilliant option for someone with natural virgin hair who is looking for extensions that won’t fade over time. Because factory hair has been through a chemical process it will always fade like any coloured hair would so in this case you wouldn’t have to worry about colour fade.
The picture on the left is factory hair, it’s super straight and sleek there’s absolutely nothing wrong with it. However see the hair on the right? See how it’s got that natural wavy texture and the strands are finer and more free moving?
Having even a slight texture added into your hair could mean you need even less hair while creating a fuller look because of the natural wave.
The options are endless with this there is so many ways to go about it to achieve different looks for each individual. It’s truly bespoke to each client.
I will be looking for a model as an introduction to this new hair type. If you think this is something you would be interested in please pop me a dm for more information 🫶🏼
Creating this gorgeous blend with a variety of different teasy lights. We did some more chunky monkey ones under the hood to create more depth and dimension and then created finer weaves towards her crown area and the top for maximum diffusion.
Just because a colour is more lived in and blended at the root doesn’t mean you can’t have the best of both worlds and still feel like a BLONDIE!
I pray lived in colour never goes out of style 🙏🏼
Do you wish you could be a fly on the wall in the salon? Us girls have WHACK chat sometimes and I live for it 🤣
Should I post more snippets of real life salon chats? Do I dare?
A thorough consultation is key to ensure you and your client have a clear understanding of the appointment ahead and know exactly what is achievable and what isn’t.
Inspo pictures are always a helpful guide to make sure your stylist understands what your picturing and if it would be a good fit you for you or just possible at all.
We aren’t magicians but sometimes having the right conversations at the beginning of the service will ensure your hair appointment goes smoothly 🫶🏼
