✨ A Little Time for You
🌸 Your Journey to Relaxation & Wellbeing happiness ❤️ 😍
🌿 Your Bra Might Be Affecting Your Lymphatic Flow… But Let’s Talk About
Think of your lymphatic system like a gentle little stream. 💚 It doesn’t have a heart to pump it. It relies on movement, breathing, muscle contractions and space to keep flowing.
🌿 Around 75% of breast lymphatic drainage travels toward the lymph nodes in your armpits.
🌿 The remaining drainage travels toward the lymph nodes behind the breastbone and above the collarbone.
🌿 Your breasts are part of your lymphatic system
💚 Remember…
This isn’t about fear.
This isn’t about perfection.
This is about becoming more aware of how beautifully your body communicates with you.
Your body whispers before it shouts.

✨ Feel Good From Within
🩷 YOU HAVE LYMPH NODES… WHERE?! 😳
Most of us know about the lymph nodes in our neck. Maybe you’ve felt them become tender when you’ve had a cold.
You may know about the ones in your armpits too…
But your lymphatic system is FAR more extensive than that. 🫧
There are hundreds of lymph nodes distributed throughout the body, connected by an incredible network of lymphatic vessels.
And some of them are sitting in places you probably never think about. 👇🏻
🫁 1. INTERNAL THORACIC LYMPH NODES
Deep inside your chest are lymph nodes associated with the internal thoracic vessels.
These nodes receive lymphatic drainage from structures including portions of the anterior chest wall and breast.
This is also a beautiful reminder that lymphatic drainage doesn’t only happen in the arms and legs.
There is an entire lymphatic network operating inside your chest. 🤯
🫧 2. ABDOMINAL LYMPH NODES
Your abdomen contains multiple groups of lymph nodes, many positioned along major blood vessels and around abdominal organs.
They receive lymph coming from different abdominal tissues and organs before it continues through larger lymphatic pathways.
So when we talk about “the lymphatic system,” we’re definitely not talking about a few little nodes under your skin.
Much of this system is deep inside you.
🦠 3. INTESTINAL / MESENTERIC LYMPH NODES
This one is FASCINATING. 😍
The mesentery that supports your intestines contains an extensive network of lymphatic vessels and lymph nodes.
Mesenteric lymph nodes receive lymph associated with the intestines and have important roles in immune surveillance and immune responses within the gut environment.
And here’s another incredible fact:
Specialised lymphatic vessels in the small intestine called lacteals participate in the absorption and transport of dietary fats. 🥑
Your digestive and lymphatic systems are far more connected than many people realise.
🦵 4. POPLITEAL LYMPH NODES — BEHIND YOUR KNEE
YES! There are lymph nodes around the back of your knee. 😳
Popliteal lymph nodes are relatively small groups located deep within the popliteal region.
They receive lymphatic drainage from parts of the lower leg and foot before lymph continues toward more proximal lymph-node groups.
So that little space behind your knee?
Anatomically, there’s quite a lot happening there. 🩷
🌸 5. INGUINAL LYMPH NODES — YOUR GROIN
These are some of the major lymph nodes involved in drainage from the lower body.
The superficial and deep inguinal lymph nodes receive lymph from different regions, including much of the lower limb and certain superficial areas of the lower trunk and external ge***al region.
And this helps explain an important concept:
Your lymphatic system is a NETWORK.
Foot ➡️ leg ➡️ regional lymph nodes ➡️ larger lymphatic vessels ➡️ eventually back toward the venous circulation.
It isn’t simply fluid floating randomly around the body. 🫧
🤯 AND HERE’S SOMETHING PEOPLE OFTEN GET WRONG…
Your lymph nodes aren’t little “toxin bins.”
They are highly organised immune structures containing immune cells such as lymphocytes and macrophages.
As lymph passes through a node, material carried within it can be sampled and processed as part of immune surveillance.
So your lymphatic system isn’t simply about swelling.
It contributes to:
🛡️ Immune function
💧 Fluid balance
🧬 Transport of proteins and other substances from tissues
🥑 Transport of absorbed dietary fats from the intestine
That is why I will NEVER get tired of teaching about this beautiful system. 🩷
We walk around every single day with this enormous microscopic transport and immune network quietly doing its job…
and most of us only remember our lymph nodes exist when one becomes swollen. 😅
🩷 YOUR BODY TALKS. LET’S LISTEN.
Next time someone tells you:
“Lymph nodes? Oh yes, those little glands in your neck…”
Send them this post. 😂👇🏻
Because there is an entire lymphatic highway running through the human body that deserves a little more attention.
