Yayoi Kusama tribute nails 🩷⚫️🩷⚫️

I first fell in love with Kusamas art when I studied her in college at 18.

As soon as I saw her work I thought “art doesn’t have to be pretty pictures”….”It can look like whatever you want it to” and thus I found abstract art.

All these years later, I still find myself going back to her work as a reference point.

Yayoi was so genius, she actually lived most of her practicing life as an artist in psychiatric hospital in Tokyo.

I’ve always loved the way she turned the world inside her head into something physical, immersive and completely unmistakably hers.

So this little set is my tribute to the artist who first made me realise that art really can be whatever the hell you want it to be.
