Hey guys, bit of a different post from me, but I took my daughter Auriella for an appointment about her hips on Wednesday (6th).

To my shock I have been told she has in-fact got two dislocated hips, that are creating a false socket within her pelvis. She will be having both operated on as of January/February 2027. Her official diagnosis is

‘Bilateral Hip Dysplasia with dislocated and high riding femoral heads and the formation of false acetabulae’

Once the surgery is done she will be placed into what’s called a ‘Spica Cast’ I am yet to know the extent of this cast but my understanding is possibly from her tummy down to her ankles.

This will entail a long stint off of work. Anywhere from 6-12 weeks. Depending on the surgery route and aftercare needed which I won’t know until next Wednesday (21st)

Just wanted to give you all the heads up as I will have hospital appointments and things cropping up between now and then. So please bear with me as I will do my best to accommodate you. But of course my daughter’s health and care will come first.
