Ready for a colour change, but don't actually know what to ask for?

You don't need to.

Every Signature Dimensional Colour Experience starts with an in-depth consultation.

We'll talk through your colour history, what you love, what you don't, how much maintenance you're comfortable with and what you'd actually like to achieve.

My client had been copper for years and was ready for something different. She wanted a more lived-in colour, she wanted to feel blonde again and, although her natural colour is quite cool, she LOVES warmer tones.

So that's exactly what we created.

Using , we created soft ribbons of blonde, plenty of dimension and beautiful warmer tones throughout, while still keeping that more lived-in feel she wanted.

4Β½ hours later and a completely different head of hair.

You don't need to know whether you need highlights, lowlights, a toner or what shade you should be asking for.

Tell me what you love, what you don't and what you'd like to achieve.

I'll work out the rest.

My next availability for longer colour appointments is November.

A little Curls in Bloom first yesterday 🀍

I styled my very first curly bride!

I've been practising and learning more curly occasion styling because it's something I've really wanted to bring into Curls in Bloom, so it was lovely to finally get to do it for an actual wedding day.

Natural curls, lots of definition, plenty of volume and the prettiest little pearl details.

I can't show you the finished look just yet, but I got SO much content and I can't wait to show you properly.

Curly bridal and occasion styling is definitely something you'll be seeing more of from me.

Growing your curls doesn't mean avoiding a haircut altogether.

It had been around 6 months since her last trim, which for somebody who's actively trying to grow their hair is absolutely fine.

The aim today wasn't to take length off.

We took the tiniest amount from the ends and concentrated on reshaping the layers, because over those six months the overall shape had started to grow out.

Eventually she'd love more of a V shape at the back, but we're working towards that gradually. Creating it today would have meant taking much more from the sides than she was comfortable losing, and growing her hair is still the priority.

And remember, tighter curls are growing even when it doesn't LOOK like they're getting longer. They've got a lot more curl and shrinkage to travel through before you physically see that extra length.

For styling I used followed by CRAZYSEXYCURL Honey Setting Foam and just look at that definition and volume 😍

She kept her length, we've got the shape back and those curls look completely different.

Hair goals don't have to happen in one appointment. Sometimes it's about having a plan and getting there without sacrificing what you've spent months growing.

Well... that was quick πŸ˜‚

My final evening appointment has now gone, which means I officially have NO appointments from 4pm onwards left for the rest of 2026.

I'm also completely fully booked for September.

I do still have some daytime availability throughout October and November, although I have a week off in October, and December is already filling up really quickly.

I know. We've only just got out of summer and I don't particularly want to be talking about Christmas either πŸ˜‚

But there are only a few months left until Christmas and my last working day of the year is Friday 18th December.

The final week is already particularly tight, with only the odd appointment left across the 15th, 16th and 17th, and there are only scattered appointments left throughout the rest of December too.

So I'm not saying you need to start putting your Christmas tree up πŸ˜‚

But if you know you need your hair doing for a particular date, event, Christmas party or just before I finish for the year, please get your appointment booked rather than waiting until nearer the time.

From now until January, any remaining availability is daytime before 4pm.

Thank you SO much for keeping me this busy. I genuinely didn't realise quite how full my diary was until I sat and went through it properly today ❀️

Whenever I'm asked how to make hair grow faster, my answer is usually much less exciting than people expect πŸ˜‚

There isn't a magic oil, shampoo or product that's suddenly going to give you inches of growth.

What we CAN concentrate on is keeping the hair you're already growing.

Looking after your scalp, reducing unnecessary tension, being gentle when detangling, keeping the hair conditioned and dealing with split or damaged ends before they continue travelling up the hair can all help with length retention.

Sometimes the problem isn't that your hair isn't growing. It's that you're not managing to keep the length you're growing.

And curls can make that even harder to see because... shrinkage πŸ˜‚

Yesterday in OmiΕ‘ might just have been one of my favourite days of the holiday so far.

We wandered through the old town, climbed up for the most incredible views and then hired our own little boat and headed along the Cetina River into the canyon.

The scenery was absolutely unreal. Huge mountains either side of us, ridiculously clear water and then stopping for a swim in the river, which was bloody freezing πŸ˜‚

Just one of those proper family days where we explored, laughed, made memories and pretty much made it up as we went along.

Croatia, you are definitely showing off πŸ‡πŸ‡·

OmiΕ‘ was an absolute beauty.

The first photo was taken just over a week ago at the UK Hair & Beauty Awards.

The second was my first day back behind the chair after three years away from hairdressing.

Back then I was Shear Style.

I had 0 followers.

I wasn't a curl specialist. I didn't have my own salon. I hadn't won any awards.

I was simply starting again.

I don't think the woman in that second photo could ever have imagined where deciding to come back to hairdressing would take her.

Since then I've completely changed direction, retrained, invested thousands into my education, found a specialism I genuinely love, opened Curls in Bloom, won Texture Stylist of the Year and most recently became a UK Top 100 Best New Talent.

And today I noticed that 1,000 of you now follow Curls in Bloom on Facebook.

I know 1,000 is only a number.

But when you remember starting at zero, it feels pretty bloody special.

Whether you've been here since the Shear Style days or you've only just found me, thank you for being part of it.

Turns out starting again was one of the best things I ever did ❀️

My curls know we're not in Yorkshire anymore πŸ˜‚

It's amazing how differently our curls can behave when we go on holiday.

This is mine in Croatia after sun, heat, humidity, sea water, more frequent wetting and washing, and completely different water coming out of the shower.

Same hair. Same curls. Completely different environment.

Some areas have stretched out, some are curlier and there's definitely a lot more lived in, beachy texture going on.

And I'm not fighting it.

Your usual routine might need tweaking when you go abroad, but you don't need to spend your holiday trying to recreate your perfect wash day from home.

Protect it from the sun, rinse after swimming, give it the moisture it needs and then go and enjoy your bloody holiday.

Sometimes you've just got to let your curls do whatever the hell they want πŸ˜‚
