Still waxing every few weeks? It may be costing you more than you realise 👀
Laser hair removal costs more initially but it's an investment in long term freedom from constantly waxing, growing the hair out and managing ingrown hairs.
Using lower legs, Brazilian and underarms as an example, waxing every five weeks could cost approximately £863 a year. Over ten years, that's more than £8,600 at today's prices!
Why choose laser?
✨ Shave between your appointments
✨ No waiting for the hair to grow
✨ Progressively finer, slower regrowth
✨ Fewer ingrown hairs
✨ Significant long term hair reduction
✨ Much easier maintenance once your initial course is complete
Imagine holidays, gym sessions and last minute plans without worrying whether you're due a wax.
Most clients require approximately 6 to 12 treatments, although some need more, followed by maintenance tailored to their individual hair growth.
Laser isn't just about removing hair, it's about saving time, reducing the constant upkeep and feeling smoother and more confident every day 🤍
Ready to stop repeating the waxing cycle? Message me to arrange your consultation and patch test.

🫧 Are you actually using the right cleanser for your skin?
Cleansing sounds like the simplest part of your skincare routine, but not every skin needs the same cleanser.
That's why pHformula has different cleansing options:
✨ E.X.F.O. cleanse, suitable for all skin types
✨ FOAM cleanse, particularly suited to urban, pollution exposed skin
✨ G.E.L. cleanse, suitable for sensitive skin
✨ E.N.Z.Y.M.E. powder, a water activated cleanser with gentle enzymatic exfoliation
The E.N.Z.Y.M.E. powder is particularly interesting because it's activated with water at the time you use it. It cleanses while gently exfoliating without abrasive particles, helping to remove impurities and excess sebum and refine the skin's texture.
But the important thing is that the most interesting cleanser isn't necessarily the right cleanser for your skin. Your cleanser should be chosen according to your skin, your concerns and the other products you're using.
Sometimes we spend so much time looking at serums and active ingredients that we forget about the basics, and a good skincare routine starts with getting your daily essentials right. 🤍
Which cleanser are you currently using? If you're not sure whether your homecare is right for your skin, bring your products along to your next appointment and we can have a look.

🤍 A little reminder from me…
You don't need to know which treatment you need before you come and see me.
I actually prefer it when someone comes in and says:
"This is what bothers me, what do you think?"
My job isn't to sell you the treatment you've seen on Instagram. It's to look at your skin, listen to what you'd like to improve and work out what is actually appropriate for you.
Sometimes that might be the treatment you had in mind. Sometimes I'll suggest something completely different. And sometimes I'll tell you that you don't need a treatment at all!
That's what consultations are for. 🤍

Something new is coming to the clinic…
I've been working behind the scenes on bringing a brand new service to Imogen's Laser Skin Clinic.
It's a little different from the treatments I normally talk about, but something I feel will be a really valuable addition to the clinic.
I'm not giving too much away just yet… 🔍
But if you've ever had something on your skin that you've thought "I really should get that checked", you'll probably want to keep an eye on the page.
More coming very soon. 👀

SkinPen or pHformula… which is better? 🤔
The answer is… neither.
They're both treatments I love working with, but they work in different ways and are suited to different skin concerns. SkinPen may be a great choice when we're focusing on things like acne scarring, uneven texture, fine lines and collagen stimulation. pHformula gives me lots of options when we're looking at concerns such as pigmentation, breakouts, congestion, redness and sun damaged skin.
But here's the important bit, you don't need to decide which treatment you need before you come and see me. Sometimes one treatment is the obvious choice. Sometimes we may use different treatments at different stages of your skin journey. It all comes back to your skin and what we're actually trying to achieve.

And if you're still not sure, that's exactly what your consultation is for. 🤍

Why do I need a course of laser hair removal? 🧐
This is probably one of the most common questions I get asked, and it all comes down to the hair growth cycle. Our hairs aren't all growing at the same time. They move through different stages, and laser is most effective when the hair is in its active growth phase (Anagen) and still connected to the follicle.
The problem is, only a proportion of your hairs will be in this stage at any one time. That's why we space your laser appointments out. Each time you come back, we're aiming to catch another group of hairs as they move into active growth. It's also why one or two laser sessions simply aren't enough for long term hair reduction.
Everyone's journey is slightly different too. Hair cycles vary depending on the area we're treating, and factors such as your individual hair growth can influence how many sessions you may need.
👉 Have a look at the infographic to see what's happening beneath the skin between your appointments.
If you're thinking about starting laser hair removal, autumn is a great time to begin a course.

Cryotherapy ❄️
Yes, some suitable age spots and sun spots can be treated with cryotherapy, and this is a lovely example of a result following treatment.
These flat brown areas can become more noticeable over the years, particularly on areas that have had lots of sun exposure such as the face, hands and décolletage. Cryotherapy uses controlled extreme cold to target the area. Following treatment, the spot will usually darken and may form a small crust or scab before gradually lifting away as the skin heals.
👉 Swipe to see the after.
Of course, not every brown mark is simply an age spot, and not every pigmented lesion is suitable for cryotherapy. I will always assess the area first, and if there is anything I'm not happy or certain about, I won't treat it and will recommend appropriate medical assessment instead.
If you have an age spot or sun spot that's been bothering you, you're welcome to get in touch to see whether cryotherapy may be suitable.

🧬 Have you heard about PDRN Active Cubes?
PDRN is definitely getting a lot of attention in the skin industry at the moment, and the new PDRN Active Cubes are something I've been really interested in.
So, what are they? PDRN is used in skincare for its skin supporting and regenerative properties, with the aim of improving overall skin quality and hydration.
What I particularly like about the pHformula Active Cubes is that they can be added to selected pHformula treatments, giving us another option to tailor your treatment depending on what your skin needs. The cubes are activated fresh at the time of treatment, which is pretty clever.
As with everything I introduce into the clinic, I'm not interested in something just because it's the latest trend. I want to understand what it does, why we're using it and, most importantly, whether it's actually going to benefit your skin.
have put together a great little video explaining the technology behind their PDRN Active Cubes, so have a watch if you'd like to know a little more.
And if you're already having pHformula treatments with me, you can always ask at your next appointment whether adding PDRN would be suitable for your skin.

How can tiny needles make your skin look healthier?
Controlled micro-injuries encourage the skin to repair itself. SkinPen creates thousands of tiny, precise microchannels, stimulating collagen and elastin production, which over time can improve acne scars, fine lines, enlarged pores, uneven texture and overall skin quality.
Results develop gradually as the skin naturally repairs and remodels.
