Melanin Rich Lip Neutralising ❤️

What is Melanin??? - Melanin is a natural pigment produced by specialised cells called melanocytes located in the basal layer of the lip epithelium. Melanocytes also produce the melanin within the body that gives you colour to your skin, hair and eyes.

Melanin absorbs harmful ultraviolet light from the sun and prevents damage to your cells and DNA 🧬

The baseline of melanin gives your lips their natural baseline colour which can range from light pink to deep brown depending on your genetics.

Clients who naturally have a darker lip epithelium (melanin rich lips) may want to lighten areas of their lips to create more of a balanced tone.

This can be done by lip neutralising tattooing. 💋
For balancing hyperpigmentation, it creates a lighter-pinkie looking lip meaning the time spent of applying lipstick/glosses is greatly reduced.

Lip blush doesn’t have to mean a bold, solid block of colour…

In fact, most of my clients come to me wanting the complete opposite — they simply want their own lips to look a little healthier, fresher and more defined.

By choosing a shade that works naturally with your existing lip tone and using a soft, sheer application, we can enhance the lips without creating a heavy “lipstick” effect.

Once healed, the aim is for people to think “your lips look lovely” — not “you’ve had your lips tattooed.”

I wanted to give you all a little update, because there are going to be a few changes to my appointment schedule over the coming months..

As most of you know, lashes have been such a huge part of my business for a very long time — and I’ve been incredibly lucky to have built up such a loyal client base, with so many of you coming to me for years. 🖤

But as my business has grown and changed, so have the areas that I really want to focus my time on.

Over the years PMU has become a much bigger part of what I do, and with also more recently having moved into lash education and training.

At the moment, what I’m finding is that because my lash diary is so busy, I simply don’t have the space to grow those other parts of my business in the way that I want to.

So going forward, I will be reducing my lash appointments quite significantly and changing the way my working week looks.

I’m not giving up lashes completely — but I will be dedicating much less of my diary to regular lash appointments so that I can create more availability for PMU and to give my education side the time it deserves.
This has been discussed with many of my lash clients already but I’m letting the wider community know so that they can plan accordingly 🖤

I know this may be disappointing for some, particularly those who have been waiting for lash appointments and have been on the waiting list for some time, I really do appreciate you and thank you for your patience.

It feels like quite a big change after doing lashes for so many years, but it also feels like the right time for my business to evolve.

So you’ll still see lashes now and again but with a lot more permanent make up and academy content, to follow along with my academy as it grows please give it a follow at 🫶🏻

Again I just want to say a huge thank you to every single person who has supported me through the years, you are much more than clients to me and I will miss seeing your faces and having our regular catch ups very much.
