POLYNUCLEOTIDES: MYTH VS TRUTH
“Are polynucleotide treatments painful?”
MYTH: Polynucleotide treatments are completely painless.
TRUTH: Some stinging or discomfort can be experienced during a treatment. A very fine needle is used to deliver the product into the skin, so some sensation is expected.
Everyone's pain threshold is different. Personally, I found the treatment very tolerable, and the application of topical numbing cream beforehand made the experience more comfortable.
I have also had patients who experienced little to no discomfort.
“Will I bruise?”
Some minor bruising can occur, as with any injectable treatment. However, this is generally minimal.
“What about the small bumps?”
Small raised bumps at the injection points are a normal part of the immediate post-treatment appearance. These generally settle within 24 hours, with minimal downtime for most patients.
The aim is to improve skin quality, hydration and overall appearance while keeping the treatment and recovery period as comfortable as possible.
