The full worksā¦
Removal of those old orange extensions, colour correction to balance everything out, correct those mixed up tones and create a more seamless blend throughout, AND reapplication of brand new tape extensions.
The real challenge was to ensure the colour was right for the new extensions we had already selected!
I used a combination of highlights throughout, using LāOrĆ©al Blond Studio, and Redken Shades EQ in different combinations and throughout different stages, to even out the blonde and tone separately at the end to blend. The purpose wasnāt to neutralise the warmth completely - we like warmth! It was to blend everything more seamlessly rather than having obvious sections of dark and blonde. Making the grow out much more seamless too!
BeautyWorks tape extensions in Honeycomb & Honey Blonde to add more pops of colour and dimension, and bring everything together harmoniously āØ
A complete hair transformation, from start to finish š¤

Iāve definitely noticed a bit of a theme in the salon this week⦠š
A few of my extension clients have been saying their extensions feel like theyāre slipping sooner than usual, and Iāve also had a few clients without extensions mentioning that theyāre noticing more hair coming out when they wash or brush it.
And actually, thereās a reason this can happen around this time of year.
Thereās evidence that our hair can naturally go through seasonal changes, with more hairs entering the resting/shedding phase during the summer and increased shedding becoming noticeable towards late summer and early autumn.
So if youāve looked down at your hairbrush this week and thought āsurely thatās not all mine?!ā š youāre not necessarily imagining it.
For my extension clients, increased natural shedding can also mean you notice more movement or slipping from your extensions, so itās worth keeping an eye on things and letting me know if something doesnāt feel right.
It doesnāt mean thereās anything wrong with your hair, and a little extra shedding can be completely normal š¤
But if youāre noticing a lot more hair loss, thinning, bald patches or itās continuing for several months, thatās when Iād recommend getting it checked rather than simply putting it down to the season.
Basically⦠September/October hair shedding is a thing, but your hair is not having a meltdown šš
Save this post for the next time you wonder whatās going on with your hair š¤

Month two of having Liv with me, and Iām so excited for everything weāre building together š«¶š¼
This month also marked 25 years of Roots Salon, owned by Sarah. Iāve been lucky enough to have worked alongside her for 24 of those years. I honestly owe Sarah so much, especially for the hairdressing training, support and opportunities sheās given me over the years. What a journey itās been ā¤ļø
There have been some beautiful little moments too⦠sunsets, sunrises and those simple everyday things that I never want to take for granted. The restart of slow Sunday roasts being one of them!
And then there was the reminder that life can change in a split second. I had a little accident and took a pretty spectacular fall⦠Thankfully, just bruises, trauma and nothing more serious for me. But⦠It really did make me stop and thinkā¦
You never know what each day is going to bring.
So appreciate the little things. Make time for the people you love. Look after your loved ones. Make time. Laugh a little more. Take the photo. Watch the sunset. Enjoy the sunrise.
Because life is happening in all of these ordinary, precious moments.
Hereās to October š«¶š»

New blondes have arrived!
Three new shades have just joined the collection, and theyāre giving everything we love about dimensional blonde.
⨠Sunkissed Bronde ā soft, multi-tonal and effortlessly blended
⨠Golden Hour ā warm, radiant and beautifully golden
⨠Soleil Blonde ā creamy, beige and softly sun-kissed
Think natural dimension, seamless blends and that expensive looking blonde that catches the light perfectly.
Which shade would you choose? š¤
