71 years old. In a bikini. On the Ms GB stage. And somehow, this was only the beginning. 👑

Winning Ms Ayrshire GB Classic and stepping onto that stage felt like a real breakthrough for me.

Not because I suddenly became fearless, but because I proved to myself that I could still do something completely outside my comfort zone - and enjoy every second of it.

Now the Ms GB Classic final is FAST approaching, and very soon I’ll be back on stage again, in front of an even bigger audience, doing it all over again.

At 71, I thought I might be slowing down.

Instead, I feel like I’m just getting started. ❤️

A few of my favourite moments from the SHABA Awards on Sunday - what an incredible night.

I was so grateful to be invited along as a VIP guest and to celebrate so many talented people from across the hair and beauty industry. As a makeup artist myself, it made the evening feel even more special. There is so much talent, passion and hard work behind this industry, and it was a privilege to be in a room full of people being recognised for exactly that. 💄✨

And, of course, it felt very special being able to wear my crown and sash for the evening as I count down to the Miss Great Britain finals next month. 👑

A huge thank you to the SHABA Awards for having me, and to everyone who made the night such a fabulous one.

What a couple of weeks it’s been… 🗞️🎙️✨

I’ve been so grateful to see my journey shared across radio, national press and local media over the past few weeks.

From my interview with Clyde, which was also featured online, to national print coverage in the Daily Record, national online coverage with both the Daily Record and The Sun, and so much support from press closer to home across Ayrshire and the West.

I’ve been featured digitally by local outlets including Ayrshire News, the Ayrshire Advertiser, the Irvine Chronicle and other local publications, as well as appearing in print in Ayrshire Magazine too ✨

Some of the coverage has focused on me making history as the oldest woman to reach this stage of the Miss Great Britain Classic competition, while other stories have highlighted something I care deeply about - using this platform to support the White Ribbon campaign and help raise awareness around ending violence against women.

A huge thank you to every journalist, presenter, publication and reader who has helped share my story. Seeing it reach people locally and nationally has been incredibly special. ❤️

I’m so chuffed to see my recent visit to Police Scotland in support of the White Ribbon campaign featured in the Daily Record today - both online and in print. 🤍

White Ribbon is such an important campaign, encouraging men and boys to stand up, speak out and help challenge violence against women and girls.

It was a real privilege to visit the station, learn more about the work being done locally and show my support for a campaign that is about creating safer communities and changing attitudes for the better.

I’m incredibly proud to be able to use my platform to help raise awareness of something that matters so much.
