43 today 🤍

And I’ll never be 42 again.

It’s not a milestone birthday, but somehow birthdays always make you stop and reflect. This one feels a little more significant after what has been quite a difficult year.

Last August, I lost my dad. It’s amazing how much something like that changes your perspective. It reminds you that life really is very short, that time doesn’t stand still and that there will never be a perfect time to do the things you want to do.

So, this year I’m choosing to focus on the things that make me happy.

Making memories with my family.
Travelling.
Laughing until my stomach hurts.
Surrounding myself with people who make life better.
Taking care of myself, inside and out.
And saying yes to more of the things that bring me joy.

I think getting older is a privilege. Every year is another year of experiences, lessons, love, friendships, memories and becoming a little more comfortable in your own skin.

And perhaps that’s why I love what I do so much.

Aesthetics, for me, has never been about trying to look younger or becoming someone else. It’s about feeling confident, looking after yourself and still looking like you — just the version of you that feels really good when you look in the mirror.

So here’s to 43. 🥂

To appreciating the people I have, making the most of the time I’m given and never waiting for “someday” to start enjoying life.

And to growing older… but doing it on my own terms. ✨

Why does your face change as you age? 🤍

It’s easy to look in the mirror and notice a new line, a deeper crease or a little less definition and think…

“I need to treat that.”

But facial ageing is much more complex than wrinkles.

As we get older, changes happen across multiple layers of the face.

✨ Skin — collagen, elastin and hydration gradually decline, affecting firmness, texture and resilience.

✨ Fat — facial fat can reduce, shift and redistribute, changing volume and the way light falls across the face.

✨ Muscle — years of facial movement contribute to expression lines and changes in muscle activity.

✨ Structure — gradual changes to the underlying bone and soft tissues can affect facial support, contours and proportions.

This is why I don’t believe in simply treating the line you can see.

Sometimes the answer isn’t more product in the area you’re looking at.

Sometimes it’s improving the quality of your skin.

Sometimes it’s supporting lost volume.

Sometimes it’s addressing muscle movement.

And sometimes… it’s leaving it completely alone.
