Thank you to my lovely client who agreed to share her results.

A before-and-after photo shows you a moment. It doesn’t tell you the whole story. 🤍

Behind every appointment is a person with their own concerns, questions and reasons for coming to see me.

That’s why I take time to understand what’s brought you in and tailor your care to you. We discuss what’s appropriate, what’s realistic and what matters most to you.

These photographs show one individual comparison. Positioning and lighting can affect appearance, and results vary from person to person.

If you’ve been wondering whether lymphatic drainage is suitable for you, find out more at MaxzeeneMLD.co.uk. All bookings via the website.

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I want to give some attention to lymphoedema—and the people living with it. 🤍

After breast cancer treatment, swelling can affect the arm, hand, breast or chest. Sometimes it appears months or even years later. Heaviness, tightness or changes in how clothing fits can also be worth mentioning to your breast care team.

You don’t have to wait until it feels “bad enough” to ask for help.

If you notice new swelling or discomfort, contact your breast care nurse or treatment team so they can assess the cause.

At my Exminster studio, I offer individual lymphoedema consultations, with treatment guided by your assessment and medical advice where needed.

Tight, restricted tissue or lingering swelling? LymphaTouch uses gentle, controlled suction to lift the tissue. I use it where appropriate as part of a personalised treatment, often alongside manual lymphatic drainage and scar work.

Every scar and stage of recovery is different, so treatment starts with an assessment. For scar work, the skin must be fully healed.

DEEP OSCILLATION® THERAPY

Gentle treatment. Deep tissue support.

Effective treatment doesn’t always require firm pressure.

Deep Oscillation® works differently. Using an electrostatic field, it creates gentle oscillations within the tissues, producing a soft, rhythmic treatment that can reach deeper tissue layers without aggressive manipulation (upto 8cm into soft tissue).

It can be particularly useful when tissues are tender, swollen or recovering.

Deep Oscillation® may help to:

• Support the movement of excess fluid
• Complement Manual Lymphatic Drainage
• Reduce swelling and tissue congestion
• Ease muscular tension and discomfort
• Support tissue recovery
• Improve tissue mobility
• Support scar and fibrosis treatment
• Provide gentle support during post-operative recovery*

One of the things I particularly like about Deep Oscillation® is how gentle it feels. This makes it a useful addition when stronger manual techniques may not be appropriate or comfortable.

I use Deep Oscillation® alongside Manual Lymphatic Drainage and other specialist techniques, selecting treatments according to the individual client, their stage of recovery and what I find during assessment.

Gentle on the body. Working deeper within the tissues.

You’ve probably never heard of the cisterna chyli… but this little structure has a rather important job. 💛

Located deep within the abdomen, the cisterna chyli acts as a collection point for lymph coming from the lower body and digestive system before it continues upwards through the thoracic duct and eventually returns to the bloodstream.

And this is one of the reasons why, during Manual Lymphatic Drainage, we don’t simply start massaging the area where you feel swollen.

MLD follows the anatomy and physiology of the lymphatic system, using gentle, precise movements to encourage lymph towards appropriate drainage pathways.

It’s also why proper training matters. Lymphatic drainage is much more than simply “pushing fluid around”.

Did you know what the cisterna chyli was before today? And did you know that not everyone has one?

Lymphatic drainage has become incredibly popular, but not all training is the same.

When you're trusting someone with your health or post-surgery recovery, choose a therapist with recognised, hands on training and professional certification eg (Vodder, FG-MLD, Casley-Smith, Foldi, Leduc or Godoy-Godoy). Some of those trained in the above will also be trained in Post Surgery treatments too.

If you're looking for a qualified Manual Lymphatic Drainage therapist, visit MLDUK.org.uk here you will find therapist near to you who have completed recognised training and meet professional standards.

Your body deserves expertise. 💙

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿⚽ If you watched England brave out that incredible win against Mexico, you’ll know the squad ran themselves into the ground at intense altitude and with 10 men. With the next match this Saturday, recovery is everything. Enter the medical team’s secret weapon: Lymphatic Drainage. 🏃

⚽ Recovery matters just as much as performance.

After an intense match, players have to recover quickly to be ready for the next challenge. Long periods of high-intensity running, physical contact, and fatigue can leave muscles sore and the body feeling drained.

Extreme exertion causes muscle micro-tears, inflammation, and a heavy buildup of metabolic waste. Because the lymphatic system relies on external pressure to move fluid, England's therapists use Lymphatic Drainage to:

✨ Support the body's natural lymphatic system
✨ Reduce fluid retention and feelings of heaviness
✨ Encourage relaxation by activating the "rest and digest" nervous system
✨ Leave you feeling lighter and refreshed

The science is exactly the same for you. You don’t need an England cap to experience it! Whether you are dealing with post-workout soreness, travel bloating, stubborn fluid retention, or just want to detoxify and feel lighter, Lymphatic Drainage is a game changer.

Bring World Cup-level recovery to your routine right here in Exminster. 🙌

Endometriosis doesn’t just affect the reproductive system, it can impact the whole body. When inflammation and toxin buildup occur, the lymphatic system works overtime trying to restore balance.

💧 Lymphatic drainage may help by:

👉 Encouraging the reduction of inflammation and swelling
👉 Supporting detoxification and fluid balance
👉 Improving circulation around the abdominal and pelvic areas
👉 Promoting relaxation and easing nervous system tension

While lymphatic drainage is not a treatment for endometriosis itself, it can complement medical management and help the body cope with associated symptoms. Regular sessions may assist in reducing discomfort and improving overall wellbeing.

💚 It’s not a cure, but it’s a beautiful way to support your body through the journey.
