I first met this lovely girl five years ago when I did her hair and makeup. Back then, she told her friends that if she ever got married, I would be her MUA. And five years later, in the heart of beautiful Glencoe, surrounded by Scotland's breathtaking scenery, I got to be part of her wedding day. 🥹🏔️
Some stories come full circle in the most beautiful way especially when your Bride became also your neighbour from around the corner, her Granny lives 3 doors up from me, bridesmaids are my returning customers to😘

I must say that there was an extra little someone stealing the show though… baby Miley, just 9 months old, the sweetest little flower girl ever! 🌸🤍

Seeing my bride in her figure-hugging dress, looking absolutely beautiful, you would never guess she was a young mum. But that’s the thing about women — we can be anything and I am already excited for Emma's future as she follows her dreams😘

That was the action plan when Zara flew up from London for her makeup and hair trial some time ago.

Volume, movement and softness with that “I just woke up like this” feeling.
Effortless… although we know there’s a little bit of artistry behind it and some fun rollers for an hour or so.
And the final result with elegant florals and dress that felt almost sculptural — like she had stepped straight out of a painting.
October weddings are dreamy when the golden autumn light comes through and you can really feel the magic of a Scottish castle…

I've had at least 10 brides this season who said "oh yes, once the makeup, hair and the rest is there, it all makes sense..."
Luckily, we did hair and makeup trial together and I just knew we're gonna be here for a real treat!
All elements not only work with each other-they complement each other but most of all, they endlessly emphasize Maria's beauty!!!

✨️ uncomplicated skin, soft, no harsh contouring, flawless before, even and sublimely glowing after
✨️hair-done, smooth but not over-done, face framing pieces loose, elegant
✨️the LIP!!! I've been looking for the perfect shade for weeks and here she is....autumnal, dark, sassy!
✨️flowers-that's the element that can be overlooked sometimes-please please please plan the florals to match the whole vibe and you'd never regret it!

One more thing-glasses or no glasses?!
It's a tough one. Lenses are always the safe option. But if you wear glasses all the time, if you love glasses, if everyone see you in glasses all the time-maybe just find your WEDDING frames and go for it!!!

Well, this is a lovely little surprise for this windy Friday night… I'M IN THE FINAL! ✨

When I found out I’d been nominated for the Athena Awards, organised by BWC Aberdeen, I was really touched.
THANK YOU to whoever nominated me. I'd genuinely love to know who you are❤️

This morning, i had my INTERVIEW with three fab Ladies!
Thank you, Sheona, Joy and Dr Neelam for your time and for such a lovely conversation. Although, as you can probably imagine, we didn't stick to small talk for very long, we all know I'm not very good at that.
We went deep, as we always do!

I found out that I've made it through to the final and honestly, I'm feeling a little emotional about it.
Running a business for so many years, putting your heart into what you do, meeting so many incredible women and being part of their special moments… you don't always stop to appreciate how far you've come.
It was lovely to talk about my journey, my business, the women I work with and everything that comes with being a woman in business.

The final is on 13th November, so for now, please keep your fingers crossed but whatever the outcome, being recognised in this way means so much to me.

🍂 Hello October 🍂

The month of cosy mornings, soft jumpers, golden light and slowing down a little.

A little reminder that taking care of ourselves doesn’t have to be complicated.

Sometimes it’s a quiet moment.
A warm drink.
A good laugh.
A little pampering.
Someone gently looking after you. 🤍

And this is exactly how I want my brides to feel when they sit in my chair.

Yes, we create beautiful hair and makeup… but it’s never just makeup.

It’s the skincare.
The little facial massage.
The creams.
The deep breath.
The laughter.
The feeling of being looked after.

Because you deserve to feel good while you’re getting ready — not just when you finally look in the mirror.

So, hello October. 🍁
Let’s be a little gentler with ourselves, find more reasons to smile, and remember that looking after YOU is never selfish.

And if that means a little extra pampering… I’m very much here for it. 💆‍♀️✨

They travelled all the way from Australia to Scotland to experience the mountains, wildlife, mist, fog… and even a little Scottish rain. 🏔️🌧️
Planning your wedding means MAKING CHOICES! Sometimes making compromises, sometimes discussing (not arguing😉) details but most of all-thinking like a team!
So my couple, instead of one wedding day back home, they chose almost three weeks of adventure, with their elopement right in the middle of it.

And what a privilege it was to be part of their morning. 🤍
They got ready together, we chatted about how they met, their life, their plans and everything they had experienced so far in Scotland.
You know when you just click with people?
This was one of those mornings.

And it reminded me of something I truly believe:
Your hair and makeup are important on your wedding day. But the people you choose to surround yourself with are even more important.
Choose people who make you laugh.
Who calm you when you're nervous.
Who make you feel comfortable enough to be completely yourself.
People who add to the experience, rather than take away from it.

Because years from now, you might not remember every detail of your makeup…
But you will remember how you felt.

And perhaps that's why the messages I've received recently have meant so much to me. So many brides have said they've found me through my Instagram because they love the stories, the connection and the way I share my brides.
That makes me incredibly grateful.
Because for me, this has never been just about makeup and hair.

It's about people. It's about connection. And it's about making your wedding morning feel as special as the day itself. ❤️

Choose your people wisely. They become part of your memories forever.
