At 41, I’m not trying to look 10 years younger. I just want to feel good, look fresh and still look like me.
For me, that’s a mixture of little tweaks when I need them, looking after my skin, lifting heavy, eating well most of the time, getting enough sleep and still making plenty of room for chocolate, holidays, spa days and nights out 😂
Nothing particularly groundbreaking, and definitely no single treatment or product doing all the work. I think the biggest thing is finding what works for you, staying consistent, and still enjoying your life.

If summer has left its mark on your skin, now’s a very good time to deal with it 🍂
More pigmentation than you remember having. Redness that’s become harder to ignore. Skin that looks dull, feels rougher or just doesn’t have the same freshness it did.
Autumn is when we can start working on those concerns properly.
But the answer isn’t automatically the latest treatment on your Instagram feed.
✨️ Pigmentation and sun damage? We might look at Lumecca IPL.
✨️ Crepey skin, laxity and declining firmness? NeoGen Plasma or Morpheus8 could make more sense.
✨️ Dull, dehydrated and congested? You might just need a HydraFacial and a rethink of what you’re using at home.

If your anti-wrinkle treatment around the eyes doesn’t give you the same results it used to, the issue may not be the muscle. It may be the skin.
As collagen and elastin decline, the skin around the eyes can become thinner, drier and more crepey. At that point, simply relaxing the muscle won’t always address what’s actually bothering you.
This is where polynucleotides can be really useful.
They’re designed to support skin quality rather than add volume, helping to improve hydration, resilience, elasticity and the overall texture of that very delicate area.
That can be especially helpful if you’re noticing:
• Fine, crepey skin

Things we wish more people knew about aesthetics...and a few things Instagram probably won’t tell you 👀
These are the conversations we have in clinic all the time.
What else would you add?
In your 40s, skin quality starts to matter just as much as lines and wrinkles.
This is the stage when collagen declines, skin can feel thinner and less elastic, pigmentation and texture changes become more noticeable, and expression lines linger longer. So for me, a good treatment plan needs to work on several of those changes, not just one.
Anti-wrinkle treatment helps manage repeated muscle movement and soften lines before they become more deeply established. NeoGen Plasma works more directly on the skin, stimulating collagen and elastin while improving texture, pigmentation, and laxity.
Polynucleotides are particularly useful around delicate areas like the eyes, where we start to notice thinning, crepiness and loss of elasticity earlier.

If you’re new here, welcome to KL Aesthetics & Skin.
We’ve been looking after patients since 2013, and over that time, aesthetics has changed enormously. So have the conversations people are having when they come into the clinic.
It’s far less about “I want this treatment” and much more about “I look tired even when I’m not”, “I don’t feel like myself anymore”, “my skin has really changed” or “I want to do something, but I’m terrified of looking overdone.”
Those are the conversations we want to have.
Our job isn’t to convince you that you need more treatment. It’s to understand what’s bothering you, explain what’s actually happening and talk you through the options that make sense for your face, your skin and your goals.
