Feelings I’ve had that I didn’t know had a name.

Some feelings are so specific, so strangely familiar, that you assume everyone feels them. You just never think to put words to them.

Until you find the word.

Desiderium A deep longing for something you once had, or something you know you can never have.

Limerence The consuming, almost obsessive infatuation with someone. The wanting, wondering, analysing every little thing.

Ennui That restless feeling of being emotionally unfulfilled, even when nothing is necessarily wrong.

Hiraeth A homesickness for a place, time, or feeling that you can’t quite return to. Sometimes for somewhere that never truly existed.

Sehnsucht A profound, almost painful longing for something undefined. The feeling that there is something out there you’re searching for, even if you don’t know what it is.

Dysphoria A deep sense of unease or disconnect between how things are and how they feel they should be.

Maybe you’ve felt some of these too.

Maybe you just never knew there was a name for it.

SHE CAME TO ME FOR A TATTOO… AND IT MIGHT JUST HAVE SAVED HER LIFE 🥹🦋💗

And today, we finally got our full-circle moment. 😭🌷✨

You might remember my gorgeous adopted Granny Trisha, who found me on Instagram last year and travelled all the way from DOWN SOUTH for a tattoo. 🥹

We instantly bonded over reiki, oracle cards, animals, dragonflies and all things a little bit woo woo 🔮🦋 but when I assessed her skin, something didn’t feel right.

With my nursing and medical tattooing background, I’d told her to heavily advocate and get it checked & investigated.

What followed was months of appointments, scans, biopsies and eventually major surgery. It was a terrifying journey, but Trisha showed incredible strength and courage throughout it all. 💗

Somewhere along the way, this tattoo client became my adopted Granny, and our friendship became something so much more special.

She recently told me she believes that if she hadn’t come to me for that appointment in May 2025, she wouldn’t be here today. 😭

And TODAY… after everything she’s been through, WE FINALLY DID HER TATTOO!!! 🦋🌷💗

I’ll never forget the full-circle feeling of that moment.

Whether it was fate, intuition, divine timing or one huge cosmic coincidence, I’m just incredibly grateful our paths crossed. ✨

Things you don’t need before your first tattoo… 🤍

You don’t need to have everything figured out.

You don’t need to know the exact placement.
You don’t need to have the perfect idea.
You don’t need to be fearless.
You don’t need anyone else’s approval.
And you definitely don’t need to walk into my studio pretending you’re not absolutely sh****ng yourself. 😂

What you do need is to feel comfortable, listened to and safe.

If you’re unsure, we talk it through. If you’re nervous, we take our time. If you change your mind about something, we stop and chat about it. And if something doesn’t feel right, I want you to tell me.

My job isn’t just to tattoo you. It’s to make sure you feel comfortable enough to ask questions, voice your worries and actually enjoy the experience. 🤍
