A woman of 49 recently asked me
“Is there hope for me yet?”
That question stayed with me because I know how many women quietly wonder the same thing.
At 49, 55 or 65, you have not missed your chance to become stronger, fitter or more confident. But the answer is not always another membership, class or online plan chosen at random.
Sometimes the most useful first step is a conversation with somebody who will listen, understand what is happening now and help you work out where to focus.
You do not have to prove that you are fit enough to begin. Beginning is how we find out what comes next.
If you have been asking yourself the same question, message me START.

You do not need to wait until perimenopause feels difficult
There is no single “menopause workout”, and you do not need to train like somebody else to make movement worthwhile.
A useful plan can include everyday movement, aerobic activity and strength work, adapted to your starting point. NHS guidance recommends muscle-strengthening activity on at least two days a week and advises building up gradually.
This is why I look at the whole person. Your experience, health, confidence, energy and recovery all matter.
If you have not exercised for some time, or you have a health condition, injury or concerns, seek appropriate professional advice before changing your activity.
You are not late. You just need a starting point you can actually use.
DM START if you want help finding yours.

I started my own fitness journey around ten years ago. At first, weight loss was part of it, but what I gained went far beyond a number on the scales.
By the time perimenopause arrived, movement was already part of my life. That did not mean everything was easy. I had to learn to adapt my training, prioritise sleep and recovery, and recognise when I was doing too much.
But I often think about how much harder that stage could have felt if I had still been where I was ten years earlier.
This is my lived experience, not a promise that exercise prevents menopause symptoms.
For me, fitness gave me strength, structure and something familiar to come back to when my body and mood felt different.
You do not have to wait until you feel at breaking point. You can start building support for your future self now.

I’m not going to ask you to change your entire life ……
It can be tempting to begin a new routine by trying to change absolutely everything.
You plan to train every day, eat perfectly, drink more water, sleep for eight hours and never have another difficult week.
That determination may carry you for a little while but it can also leave you feeling overwhelmed when normal life gets in the way.
My approach is little and often.
We’ll look at where you are now and decide which changes are realistic to begin with. Once those foundations feel more manageable, we can add to them.
That might not produce the dramatic first week people like to show online. But it gives you time to understand what you’re doing and practise it in real situations.
I don’t want to give you another strict routine you can only maintain temporarily.
I want to help you create habits that gradually begin to feel like your own.
DM me HABITS if you’re tired of changing everything and then feeling as though you’ve failed.

One holiday, meal out or missed week hasn’t undone all your progress.
A routine that only works when life is perfectly organised isn’t a sustainable routine.
There will be holidays, celebrations, meals out, busy weeks and times when exercise isn’t your priority.
That doesn’t mean you’ve failed.
You don’t need to compensate, punish yourself or wait until Monday to “start again.” You can simply return to the habits that help you feel good.
Your next meal doesn’t need to fix the previous one. Your next workout doesn’t need to make up for anything.
It’s just your next choice.
I want the women I work with to enjoy their lives without feeling as though every meal, missed session or holiday has destroyed their progress.
Because the real goal isn’t perfection.
It’s developing habits you can return to without guilt.
Save this for the next time one imperfect week makes you feel like giving up.
