Running a business, an academy and being a mum isn’t always easy. Some days I feel like I’m juggling a hundred things at once, but I wouldn’t change it for the world.

Building a business I’m proud of whilst raising my babies is something I’ll never take for granted.

So here’s a little reminder that behind every business page is a real person, with a real life, doing her best to make it all work. 🤍

I’ve probably said “I’ve had an idea” more times than anyone around me wants to hear 😂

And usually while I’m still halfway through the last one.

If you’ve followed Urban Angel for a while, you’ll have noticed a few changes recently. The branding, the website, the booking system… there’s been a lot happening alongside the everyday running of the clinic and academy.

I get a very clear picture in my head of how I want something to look, feel and work. Then I get into the details and realise just how much goes into making that happen. A website page becomes a whole website project. Updating a resource gives me another three ideas. And apparently choosing the right shade of berry is a job in itself.

I can be absolutely made up with something, then look at it again a week later and think, “Actually, we could make that better.”

That’s quite an exhausting person to be sometimes. Especially when that same person is also teaching, looking after clients, supporting learners and being a mum of three. There isn’t a spare version of me quietly getting everything else done while I work through my latest idea.

Having Sam alongside me makes such a difference. There is so much work involved in keeping the academy running, and I appreciate how much she puts into it.

I care about all of it. How someone feels coming into the clinic. Whether a learner understands something properly. Whether booking an appointment is straightforward. Even the wording on a page that most people will probably spend about ten seconds reading.

And caring that much can make it difficult to accept that you won’t get every decision right first time.

I’m learning to be more comfortable saying, “I’d do that differently now.” Even when I spent bloody ages on it the first time.

The more I do, the more I understand what works, what needs my attention and where I’ve made something more complicated than it needed to be. I want to use that, even when it means going back over something I thought I’d finished.

There’s a lot of myself in Urban Angel, and I’m proud of it. I’m also full of ideas for where I want to take it next.

So if you’re running a business and revisiting a decision you were absolutely convinced about six months ago, I completely get it. You made it with what you knew then. Give yourself some room to use what you know now.

The neck is one of those areas people tend to ignore until suddenly they notice the changes.

Fine lines, crepey texture, laxity and a general loss of skin quality can all become much more obvious here, which is why treating the face beautifully but completely forgetting the neck never really makes much sense to me.

For this client we combined microneedling with mesotherapy to target the quality, texture and overall condition of the skin, while also stimulating the skin’s natural repair response and supporting collagen and elastin production.

This was a completely tailored treatment rather than throwing the same protocol at every client. What we use, how we treat and the areas we focus on should always depend on the skin in front of us.

The aim is to make it look healthier, stronger and better supported over time.
