I don’t post for 3 weeks and then you get two posts in one day 😂

I’m definitely not going to pretend braiding is my speciality, but we gave it another go!

This little lady is one of my oldest friend’s daughters. She won’t mind me saying that she’s not quite ready to sit with someone she doesn’t know for hours having her hair done, so we’ve been practising together a few times now.

And this time she absolutely smashed it — 3 whole hours sitting for me while I attempted this 🥹

I think we’re both getting better each time! 🤍

Less hair appointments = better hair? 👀

Tasha is the perfect example of why sometimes doing less actually gives you a better result.

When Tasha first came to me (last photo), she was having her blonde done much more frequently. There was nothing technically wrong with her hair, but over time the repeated highlighting had created that classic problem…

A darker, more solid-looking regrowth at the top, followed by very bright blonde through the lengths. As soon as that regrowth appeared, she felt like she needed her hair done again — and the cycle continued.

I knew that if I could convince her to leave it alone for longer, we’d actually have more natural depth to work with and could create a much softer, more dimensional blonde.

So we changed the plan.

Instead of automatically coming back every 12 weeks, Tasha now goes around 6 months between her colour appointments.

And look at the difference. 🤍

The first two photos are her hair now — dimensional, soft and expensive-looking without feeling overly highlighted.

Swipe again and you’ll see her regrowth before this appointment. There’s obviously growth there, but there’s no harsh line screaming “I need my roots done!”

Then compare that with the final photo from when we first started working together.

Same head of hair. Completely different grow-out.

And the best bit? Tasha gets to enjoy her colour for longer, spends less money maintaining it and isn’t tied to sitting in my chair every 12 weeks.

Sometimes the answer isn’t more highlights.

Sometimes your hair just needs us to stop highlighting the life out of it. 😂🤍

Low-maintenance colour doesn’t mean boring colour — it means creating a colour that still looks good months later.
