To mark Menopause Awareness Month, I have teamed up with the lovely Katie (Katie Green), who is hosting three talks on perimenopause and menopause.

​Each talk focuses on a different topic to help you navigate this time in your life. To complement her third talk, "HRT: Understanding and managing our changing hormones," I will be doing a 30-minute talk on how perimenopause and menopause changes our skin, why our skincare products don't work like they used to, and what we can do about it.

​For my new followers and my existing ones, here is a little bit about me that you might not know!
​My name is Carla. I’ve been in the beauty and aesthetic industry for over 25 years, I’m a proud mum of two kids, founder of SkinRenewal (which I’ve run for 6 years) and my second business, Carla Pooran 40+ Skin Bootcamp!

​My love for skin and skincare started in my teens and beyond. I personally suffered from acne, and back then like so many of us I tried every product out there hoping for a miracle. Having experienced that frustration firsthand, I knew I wanted to specialise in helping others.

​This passion led me to work at a private aesthetic clinic, Woodford Medical, for 16 years. During that time, I received invaluable training and gained extensive knowledge treating skin across London’s Harley Street district and Essex.

​In 2020, I launched SkinRenewal—yes, right at the start of a pandemic! Despite a rocky start, SkinRenewal grew alongside my treatment portfolio. By listening to my clients and investing in the right technology, seeing your skin transformations became the reason I love my job.

​I’ve also been fortunate during my career to be featured in various press outlets, including The Sun newspaper, local newspaper, magazines and BBC Essex Radio. 🎙️

​With new industry regulations on the horizon, I realised it wasn't just about investing in new machines or skincare lines for SkinRenewal it was about investing in myself to safeguard my business. While I’ve always prioritised ongoing training throughout my career, going back to studying, assignments, case studies, practical days, and exams at YOU.
