If you’d told me six months ago that I’d be writing this, I honestly wouldn’t have believed you…
I’ve been shortlisted as a finalist for Hairstylist of the Year 2026 in the Hair & Beauty Awards 🤍
After closing the doors to my salon, Loubellai, I felt like I’d taken a huge step backwards. It was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make. Moving to a new location meant leaving behind the business I’d worked so hard to build, and with only a few of my clients able to follow me, I found myself rebuilding my client base from scratch.
Looking back now, I realise that sometimes you have to take a step back to move forward.
I promised myself I would be proud of everything I’d achieved and overcome, and keep pushing myself outside of my comfort zone.
Hairdressing has always been my passion. It’s never just about the hair, it’s about the connections you make, the confidence you help create, and making someone feel like the very best version of themselves.
Even after more than 20 years, I still get butterflies every time I do someone’s hair. I genuinely still love every minute of it.
The application itself was eight pages long, and if I’m honest, writing about myself doesn’t come naturally. But I poured my heart into it, drawing on over 20 years of experience, and hit submit at 2am, never believing I’d actually make the finalists’ shortlist.
When I opened my email and saw I’d been shortlisted, I was completely overwhelmed. I cried happy tears 🥹
This isn’t just about an award to me. It’s a reminder that believing in yourself, even when you doubt yourself, can lead to incredible things.
So today, I’m allowing myself to feel proud. ❤️
Thank you to everyone who has supported me, believed in me, recommended me, and trusted me over the years. I honestly wouldn’t be here without you.

After 20+ years behind the chair, I still get the same excitement and happiness every time I create a new look for someone.
People often think we simply do hair, but it’s so much more than that. Yes, we use our skill and experience to make you feel amazing, but what many don’t realise is that you give us something too; you trust us, you allow us to express our creativity through your hair, and that’s incredibly special.
Hairdressing is built on connection. It’s about understanding someone’s personality, lifestyle, and vision, then bringing it to life in a way that makes them feel confident and beautiful.
That’s why finding the right hairdresser is so important, and equally, why we value finding the right clients. The best results come from a relationship built on trust, communication, and mutual respect.

That was the brief.
My client likes the idea of her hair long, but just ties it up and finds it hard work to style herself.
So we gave her a style that wasn’t too short.
A nice midi length is the perfect length for someone who likes their hair when it’s down, but also long enough to comfortably tie up on those busy days!
So that’s what we did, along with giving her some dimension back in her colour and of course shine ✨
