Just a little reminder…
I often get comments from clients about my booking system, or more accurately the lack of one. Why can’t I book microneedling/ skin peel/Laser treatments online?
The simple answer is I need to see you first. Why? Because a face to face consultation is important. In fact it’s probably the most important part of any treatment that you eventually have with me.
Having a conversation with you about your skin concerns tells me a lot about you as a person, your lifestyle and how my skin treatments can help you to achieve your skin goals. It’s not about me telling you what you need, it’s an exchange of ideas and expertise, so that you’re fully aware of what choices you have and how to make the best of them.
Recently I have invested in the Skntec analysis device, which I can use to take a deep dive into how your skin is right now. It’s a tool that will allow me to give you a more accurate and scientific perspective of skin health and how we can manage and improve your overall skin appearance. It will track progress from the start of your treatment journey, and provide a clear guide on how well your skincare and treatments are performing.

Today I received some very sad news. One of my long time clients has passed away suddenly.
She was due to have her regular appointment last week, but didn’t attend for her treatment.
I had scheduled out 2 hours for her facial, and when her appointment time came and went, and she didn’t arrive, it would have been very easy to send her a message expressing my displeasure or even annoyance that she hadn’t bothered to let me know she couldn’t make it.
But I didn’t do that, and I don’t do it to any of my clients who miss appointments. I do send them a message asking if everything is ok and sorry they couldn’t make it today, as in her case, but no more stern than that - and this is an example of why.
You never know what’s happening in someone’s life, and although it can be disruptive when a client doesn’t show with no notice, especially when you are working alone and can’t fill their appointment easily, a little bit of patience and understanding is always appreciated, as it has been , by her family.
Over the years, clients become much more than a customer; they build up trust in your ability and discretion, tell you about their triumphs and tragedies, and confide things they wouldn’t even tell their closest friends or family.
So tomorrow, if one of your clients misses their appointment and you don’t hear from them, maybe it’s not because they forgot or couldn’t be bothered. Don’t take it personally, and if you know you won’t be seeing them again, be thankful they came your way.
