Traditionally, your wedding band goes on first — so what happens to your engagement ring during the ceremony?

I gave mine to my dad to look after, but I remember feeling strangely lost without it. It was so special to me and I couldn’t wait to get it back on my finger afterwards.

My bride moved hers to her other hand, but hers had an extra-special story. After being engaged for a long time, her fiancé, now husband, got down on one knee at the venue a couple of days before their wedding and proposed all over again with a brand-new engagement ring.

How romantic is that?

If you’d prefer me to stay, I also offer two hours of touch-up time after your bridal service — perfect for those emotional moments, photographs and final checks.

Or there’s my full VIP service, where I stay with you right through to your first dance (and longer if needed), keeping your hair and makeup looking beautiful throughout.

I genuinely could have spent days taking in every corner of this incredible place. The history, the rooms, the staircase, the grounds — it was absolutely breathtaking.

One of the things I love most about my job is that no two wedding mornings are ever the same. One week I might be getting a bride ready in her family home, surrounded by all those little personal details and memories, and the next I’m walking into a beautiful stately home like this.

They’re completely different experiences, but equally special.

I feel incredibly privileged to be invited into such an important part of someone’s day — wherever that morning happens.

And this one… I was definitely a little bit in awe.

Of course, you want to love their work and know you’re in experienced hands — but you’re also choosing the people who will be around you during some of the most personal moments of your wedding day.

Someone who understands when you need them, when to step back, and the kind of atmosphere you want around you.

My service doesn’t end when your hair and makeup are finished.

I always stay with my bride until she’s completely ready to walk down the aisle — final hair and makeup checks, veil placement, lipstick and those last little details, making sure you feel completely comfortable before you go.

But if you’d like that support to continue, I also offer an extended bridal service.

You can have me stay for two hours after your ceremony, on hand for any touch-ups after happy tears, hugs, photographs and everything else that comes with those first few hours.

Or choose my VIP Bridal Service, where I stay with you right through until your first dance.

Throughout the day I’m there for hair and makeup touch-ups, stray hairs, dress placement and those little details you might not notice yourself — making sure you continue to look and feel your best from the moment you get ready to the moment you hit the dance floor.

What’s inside a bridal makeup artist’s personal makeup bag?

Today’s look — soft, pink & glowy, but it needs to LAST. 36 degrees and I’m out until 10pm! And can we just appreciate the natural light on a train… divine.

SKIN

• Lisa Eldridge Skin Tint — lightweight, natural-looking coverage.
• Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter — on the high points for luminosity.
• Erborian Under-Eye Concealer — beautifully hydrating, especially if you have a little more movement around the eyes like me.
• Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Blur Concealer — extra coverage exactly where I need it.

CREAM COLOUR

• VIEVE Cream Bronzer — looks scary in the pot but it’s beautifully translucent, natural and blends like butter. Dewy, never greasy.
• Arbonne Stick Blush — creamy without too much slip, so perfect when I need longevity.

POWDERS

• Hourglass Setting Powder — if you know, you know. Takes away slip and movement WITHOUT taking away my glow. Skin still looks like skin.
• Hourglass Bronzer & Blush — soft-focus, lightweight powders layered over my creams for colour that lasts without looking heavy.
• Rare Beauty Cheer — the prettiest ballerina pink. Almost a pink highlighter, tapped onto my highest points and tip of my nose.

EYES

• Hourglass Eyeshadows — soft pinks with subtle smoke and contour.
• Hourglass Gel Eyeliner — tightlined for fuller-looking lashes without taking up my hooded lid space. It does NOT budge, even on my watery eyes!

And the test? I filmed my makeup again around 9pm after a full day in 36-degree heat… still in place.
