The hands you trust with your skin šŸ¤

From where Bare Method began, to 15 years of learning, growing and refining the method, to welcoming Holly into the team and now opening the doors to our new clinic…

it’s been quite a journey 🄹

We thought it was time to introduce you to the people, passion and purpose behind Bare Method. We can’t wait to welcome you in šŸ¤

Imagine how long this has been sitting in the skin… šŸ‘€

Older congestion can become dry, compacted and deeply lodged within the pore, which means the answer isn’t simply applying more pressure.

Good preparation is everything. You need to soften the congestion, understand the direction of the pore and use controlled pressure in the right place to encourage it out without causing unnecessary trauma to the surrounding skin.

And when it finally releases… SO satisfying šŸ¤ŒšŸ¼

This is the kind of congestion I love teaching because professional extractions aren’t about squeezing harder, they’re about understanding exactly what you’re working with.

A flight from Edinburgh. One Poreless Facial with Holly. And these results... 🤯

We didn’t throw more products at her already-overwhelmed skin. We stripped everything back, adjusted her skincare and focused on exactly what her skin needed.

She stayed consistent and now her skin is smoother, calmer, glowing and she finally feels confident without makeup 🄹

THIS is why clients fly from all over to see us. It’s never just a facial it’s the right treatment, the right homecare and a plan that actually makes sense for your skin šŸ¤šŸ¤

ā€œBUT SUNBEDS HELP MY SKINā€¦ā€ 🫠

Do they though? Or does your skin just look better for a few days because you’ve got a tan?

This is one of the biggest acne myths I hear in clinic.

Sunbeds can temporarily make spots look less angry because the tan masks redness and UV can temporarily suppress some inflammation.

But that does not mean they’re treating your acne.

If you’re acne-prone, you’re adding:
šŸ”„ Heat
šŸ’¦ More sweating
šŸ˜µā€šŸ’« Irritation
🧱 Barrier damage
ā˜€ļø A huge dose of UV exposure

…to skin that is already prone to inflammation and congestion.

And no, sunbeds aren’t ā€œdrying out your spotsā€ in a helpful way either.

Your skin might feel a little less oily temporarily, but drying and irritating acne-prone skin is NOT the goal. Once that barrier becomes dehydrated and irritated, your skin can feel oilier, congestion can become more noticeable and suddenly you’re breaking out again.

And then I hear…

ā€œI need to go back on the sunbeds because my skin was so much better when I was using them.ā€

NOOOO 😭

You’re not treating the acne. You’re temporarily disguising it while exposing your skin to something that increases pigmentation, premature ageing and long-term UV damage.

Especially if we’re already trying to fade post-acne marks… sunbeds are quite literally working against us šŸ˜‚

So unfortunately I’m calling BS on this one. šŸ¤

If you’re constantly adding a new serum, acid, toner or TikTok recommendation to your routine, there’s a VERY good chance your skin is crying out for a break.

And no, I’m not about to give you another complicated routine full of actives. In fact, I’d do the complete opposite. Your everyday routine should be simple, hydrating and supportive, especially if you already know you’re going to keep experimenting with new products anyway šŸ˜‚

Think of this as your ā€œkeep my skin happy while I inevitably try another serumā€ starter pack. Your skin barrier will thank you for it!

Save this for the next time TikTok convinces you that you desperately need another skincare product… šŸ‘€

That dermaplaning glow… ✨ but the bit I care about most is what happened to the skin to get there.

Dermaplaning isn’t simply removing peach fuzz with a blade.

Your pressure, blade angle, skin tension, product choice and the amount of glide you have can completely change how the treatment feels and how the skin responds afterwards.

This is one of the reasons I moved away from traditional dry dermaplaning and developed my Oil Dermaplaning technique.

For me, the oil isn’t there just to make the blade ā€œslide better.ā€ It gives me more control over the glide, allows me to adapt my pressure throughout the treatment and helps me work in a way that feels much more respectful of the skin barrier.

And that’s the biggest thing I want skin specialists to understand…

A beautiful dermaplaning result shouldn’t just be about how smooth the skin looks immediately afterwards.

I’m looking at:
✨ How calm the skin is
✨ How controlled the treatment felt
✨ Whether I’ve avoided unnecessary friction
✨ How the skin barrier has been respected
✨ And how the skin looks and feels in the days that follow

The blade is only one small part of dermaplaning.

The technique behind it is everything. šŸ¤ŒšŸ¼
