Today is Caitlyn’s last day working for me, but thankfully, it’s not her last day working with me ❤️

After eight years by my side, she’s taking a well earned week off before returning to the salon behind the chair as her own boss, Caitlyn’s Hair Chair.

It’s a big change for both of us, and I’m feeling all the emotions today. But more than anything, I’m proud of her. Katie, Madison and I will be cheering her on every step of the way.

Here’s to your next chapter, Caitlyn. We still get to do this together 🥂

✨ THE LATE NIGHTS ARE LIVE! ✨

You asked, I listened… and after teasing this one earlier in the week, the first of my new late-night appointments are officially open for booking. 🤍

Starting Thursday 12th November, I’ll be opening my diary later on two Thursdays each month, giving you a little more flexibility when my usual hours, or those ever-elusive Saturday appointments, just don’t work.

So if you’ve been trying to get into my chair but haven’t quite managed to find an appointment that suits… this is your chance. 👀

The dates are LIVE on Fresha now, with both colour and cutting appointments available.

These are additional appointments and there will only be two late nights each month, so once they’re gone, they’re gone.

It really has been announcement central at JR this week 😂 Between Caitlyn stepping into self-employment, Katie adding more days to her diary… apparently I decided I may as well join in too.

✨ LATE NIGHTS ARE COMING BACK ✨

From November, I’ll be opening up two late-night Thursdays each month, giving a little more flexibility to those of you trying to get into my diary.

My Saturdays are usually the first appointments to disappear, and I know there are quite a few of you who’ve been trying to get booked in but just can’t make my usual weekday hours work.

So… this one’s for you. 🤍

Two Thursdays a month, I’ll be swapping my usual finishing time for a later one and opening up extra cutting and colour appointments into the evening.

The first dates will be released soon and, because there are only two each month, I have a feeling these might disappear fairly quickly 👀

We’re so excited to share that from the beginning of November, Katie will be adding an extra day to her salon week 🤍

Katie is due to complete her full hairdressing qualification by the end of October, and it feels like such a lovely milestone to watch her step into this next chapter.

More days behind the chair, more appointment availability and more opportunity for Katie to keep building the clientele she’s worked so hard for.

A new chapter for Caitlyn… and a pretty big one for JR too 🤍

After 8 years of working side by side, growing, learning, laughing, probably stressing 😂 and building JR into what it is today, Caitlyn is taking the next step in her career.

From Wednesday 7th October, Caitlyn will officially become self-employed, working from JR Hairdressing under her own business, Caitlyn’s Hair Chair. 🥂

It’s definitely a little bittersweet for me. Caitlyn has been part of JR for almost the entire journey. I’ve watched her grow from the junior she was when she first joined me into the talented, confident stylist and woman she is today. She hasn’t just worked in this salon, she has helped me build it.

And while this marks a change in how we work together, thankfully it doesn’t mean goodbye. Far from it. 🤍

So, what does this mean for Caitlyn’s clients?

From 7th October, Caitlyn will be running her own business from her chair here at JR. You’ll still find her in the same salon, behind the same chair, doing the hair you know and love. Your appointments with Caitlyn will simply be managed through Caitlyn’s Hair Chair rather than directly through JR Hairdressing.

We’ll be sharing all the practical details before the changeover so everything is nice and straightforward for her clients. For now, there’s nothing you need to worry about or do.

For me, this feels like one of those slightly strange business-owner moments. Part of building a team is helping people grow, and sometimes that growth means giving them the space to build something of their own.

I couldn’t be prouder of you, Caitlyn. Eight years by my side, and now I get to watch you take this next step while still having you right here beside me.

Same salon. A new chapter. Two businesses cheering each other on. 🤍
