💜 I was sitting in my little workshop today and thinking about just how much trust people put in me.

When someone sends me something precious to be included in a piece of jewellery, I never forget that what I’m holding isn’t simply a material to work with. It means something. It has a story behind it, and in many cases it’s completely irreplaceable.

It might be a tiny lock of hair, a few fibres from a favourite piece of clothing, a special flower, or something else that brings back a particular person or moment. ✨

Every piece I create at Forget Me Not by Emma is made by me, by hand, with care and patience.

I genuinely feel very lucky that so many of you trust me to create something so personal for you.

Sometimes, a treasured item can become something even more special. 💙

Today I spoke to a lovely lady who had seen my website and thought the jewellery was beautiful. But she felt upset because her sister had passed away three years ago, and she didn’t have any ashes, hair or other inclusions to use in a piece.

I asked whether she had kept anything that belonged to her sister. She had a scarf.

I explained that we could take a few fibres from that scarf and incorporate them into a ring, creating a personal keepsake from something her sister once wore.

If you don’t have traditional inclusions, there may still be a way to create your jewellery using fibres from a treasured scarf or item of clothing.
