Some appointments remind you just how much fun hairdressing can be!

Our lovely Luciana came to Suzanne with an inspiration picture, a few colours she absolutely loved and, best of all, she was more than happy to let Suz get creative!

And this is exactly the sort of thing Suzanne loves.

It’s not every day you get the chance to work with four different colour mixes for one appointment and really have some fun with colour.

Using beautiful reds, bleach and browns, Suzanne created bold panels of colour, carefully placed to give the finished look all that lovely contrast, depth and dimension.

And of course, a little help from REF to bring those gorgeous tones and shine to life.

What makes appointments like this so special is the relationship and trust between stylist and client. Luciana was completely open to trying something different and gave Suzanne the freedom to just enjoy being creative.

Some moments in the salon make you feel especially proud, and this is definitely one of them!

When Katie joined us as an apprentice back in June 2024, she had so much ahead of her. Since then, we’ve watched her work incredibly hard, grow in confidence and develop into the lovely, talented stylist she is today.

From apprentice to Junior Stylist, and now we’re so excited to announce that Katie will officially become a Senior Stylist from 1 November!

What makes us particularly proud isn’t just how far her hairdressing skills have come. It’s the way she looks after her clients, the care she puts into every appointment and the genuine passion she has for getting things right. She’s built some wonderful relationships with her clients and it’s been lovely watching them put their trust in her.

And we’re not stopping here! With some exciting advanced blonding education coming up, including specialist training with Lolly Jaye, we’re continuing to invest in Katie and help her develop her skills even further.

Katie, you’ve worked so hard for this and you’ve absolutely earned it. Watching you find your confidence and become the stylist we always knew you could be has been such a pleasure.

We’re all incredibly proud of you, and I can’t wait to see what comes next!

A little autumn colour inspiration from Eleanor.

Rich brunette depth with soft ribbons of light. We love how the different tones show through every wave.

Eleanor created this result with half a head of highlights and a root melt using REF shades 3.0 + 4.1 + 4.3. She then toned with 6.11 + 8.21 to bring the finished colour together.

Such beautiful work by Eleanor and a lovely example of how highlights can add softness to a brunette.

This one feels really special to us.

Over the next few months, Katie and Cece are stepping into the next stage of their development with a bespoke Advanced Blonding journey alongside Lolly.

For those of you who have been with Ego for a long time, there’s a lovely bit of history here too. Lolly started her own hairdressing journey at Ego and worked alongside Suzanne for years, so having her now support Katie and Cece feels like a real full circle moment.

This has been built to be much more than one training day. There’s a Look and Learn, practice back at Ego, individual Shadow Days and then a hands on development day back in the salon with Lolly to bring everything together.

We’re so proud to be investing in the girls, giving them the time, support and education to keep growing, and we’re just as excited about what that could mean for the salon and our clients as their confidence and skills develop.

We’ll be sharing the journey as it happens, not just the finished result, so you’ll get to see the learning, the practice, the progress and everything in between.

We’re so proud of how much Eleanor has grown and the confidence she’s bringing to her colour work now. You can really see it in results like this.

After 5 months without a colour appointment the aim was to get her feeling blonde again in one visit while still keeping softness and depth through the hair.

Eleanor worked with the natural hairline to keep the placement soft and flattering. BlondorPlex 9 was used for the lightening with REF 7.036 adding depth. The blonde was then refined using REF Soft Colour 10.1 + 9.21 to keep everything bright and balanced.

Finished with REF care and styling products for that soft glossy finish.

Such a beautiful result and another one we’re really proud of from Eleanor.
