A little life update 🤍
After a very exciting few years building Blended Lengths, I’m now at the point where I’m pressing pause and heading off on maternity leave.
I’m getting very close to welcoming my baby, and for the first time in a long time, I’m allowing myself to properly step away from work and enjoy what’s ahead.
So for the time being, Blended Lengths is officially paused.
I won’t be taking on new clients, running in person training or actively working within the business while I’m away.
I don’t have a definite date for when I’ll be back. I want to give myself the freedom to see how life feels once the baby is here, enjoy this time with my family and come back when it feels right, rather than putting pressure on myself to have a set return date.
My online training will remain available as normal, and I’ll be in touch when I’m ready to return and have a clearer idea of what Blended Lengths looks like going forward.
For now, I’m swapping business plans and work days for baby prep, family time and a completely new chapter. 🤍
Thank you to every single person who has supported Blended Lengths over the years.
This isn’t goodbye. Just a little pause while I go and do something rather exciting. 🤍

Salon space available from October 🤍
I’m looking for a self-employed hairstylist, makeup artist, lash technician or another suitable professional to work from my salon in Rangemore, Burton upon Trent.
The space has a hairdressing station and backwash, tea and coffee making facilities, a toilet on site, and free parking for you and your clients.
You’ll have use of the whole salon while I’m on maternity leave.

✨ A little opportunity at Blended Lengths
As I’ll be heading off on maternity leave in October, I’ve decided to open up my salon space to another self-employed stylist 🤍
This isn’t really your typical chair rental.
You’ll have your own key and independent access, meaning you can choose your own working days and hours, manage your own diary and have the freedom of essentially having your own little salon without the rent and overheads that come with taking on premises yourself.
The salon is fully equipped for hair, with a styling station, backwash, storage, tea & coffee facilities and unlimited free parking for you and your clients.
It’s based in a lovely, quiet countryside setting in Rangemore, just outside Burton upon Trent.
While I’m on maternity leave, you’ll have almost exclusive use of the salon and a huge amount of flexibility over when you work. When I return, I’m more than happy to arrange my working days around the right person.
£500 per calendar month, including utilities.
I’m open to hairdressers, colourists, extension specialists, bridal stylists etc. You’ll run your own business, clients, diary and payments completely independently.
More than anything, I’m looking for someone professional, reliable and lovely who wants a beautiful space to work from and will look after it as if it were their own.

Most hair extensionists don’t actually set their prices.
They look at what everyone else is charginG and pick a number that feels about right. 👀
But your prices should be based on your business.
Your income goals.
The hours you actually want to work.

What each appointment costs you.

Because two extensionists could offer the exact same service and need to charge completely different prices to make their businesses profitable.

When I first trained in hair extensions, I thought learning how to fit hair was the business.
It wasn’t.
Because you can leave a training course with a certificate in your hand and still have absolutely no idea how to actually turn that skill into an income.
And I see this ALL the time.
Women spend hundreds on training, learn the method… and then get home and think:
Now what?
How do I get my first client?
What do I charge?
How do I know if I’m good enough?
What do I post?
How do I actually get people to choose ME?
And suddenly that “cheaper” training doesn’t feel quite so cheap when the certificate ends up sitting in a drawer.
If I was starting again tomorrow, I wouldn’t look for the cheapest course.
I’d look for the training that taught me both sides:
The skill AND the business.
Because the goal was never just to become qualified.

Somewhere along the way, so many of us have been conditioned to believe that spending £1,000 on ourselves is a BIG no.

We deserve it.

Well, we need one.
£1,000 spread across clothes, meals out, beauty appointments and little treats?
We barely even notice it.

The students who fail… always have this in common.
Not because they aren’t talented.

And definitely not because they picked the wrong career.
It’s because they wait.
They wait until they’re more confident.
They wait until they’ve practised a little more.
They wait until they feel “ready.”
The truth is…
The students who go on to build successful businesses aren’t the ones who know the most.
They’re the ones who take action despite the fear.
They ask questions.
They make mistakes.
They keep showing up.
After teaching so many beginners, I’ve realised something…
✨ Confidence isn’t a requirement to start.
✨ It’s the reward you get for starting.
