Different tape cuts used as complementary resources in post-operative care. đź’™
There are different tape cuts that can be used during post-operative recovery, and each one has a specific purpose depending on the patient’s individual needs.
Web Tape
A web-shaped cut that can be used in areas with tissue alterations, including areas affected by fibrosis, depending on the assessment.
Lymphatic Tape
Used as a complementary resource to support lymphatic flow and help with oedema management.
Perforated Tape
The perforated cut can be used as a complementary resource in areas with swelling, bruising and other tissue changes, depending on the assessment.
Compressive Tape
Used when a more localised compressive effect is required, according to the needs of the tissue.
Every post-operative recovery is unique.
The same tape cut is not necessarily appropriate for every patient. The most appropriate approach is determined by assessing the type of surgery, stage of recovery, tissue condition and individual response.
Tape is a complementary resource not a one-size-fits-all protocol.
Sometimes, God places a purpose in your heart before you even understand where it will lead you. 🙏✨
Today, I look at this little space and realise just how far I’ve come.
What started as a dream has become my passion, my work, and a part of who I am. đź’™
I’m grateful for every step, every lesson, and every person who has been part of this journey.

Post-operative care is not just about lymphatic drainage. 🤍
It is about understanding how the body heals, recognising changes in the tissues and providing the right care at the right stage of recovery.
Seroma is a collection of fluid that can develop under the skin after surgery.
Fibrosis is the formation of firm, thickened or hardened tissue as part of the healing process.
Wound dehiscence is when a surgical wound opens or separates before it has fully healed.
These are different post-operative conditions, and recognising them early is an important part of appropriate care and recovery.
Following your doctor and therapist’s advice throughout your recovery is essential.
Knowledge, assessment and personalised care can make a difference throughout the healing journey.

Before undergoing any surgical procedure, it’s important to remember that surgery is only the beginning. ✨
Your final results depend not only on what happens in the operating room, but also on how well you care for yourself during recovery. Small habits can make a significant difference in the healing process and your overall outcome.
In this carousel, I share three habits that can compromise your recovery and explain why following the guidance of your surgeon and the professional responsible for your post-operative rehabilitation is so important.
Remember! every body heals at its own pace. Respecting your body’s healing process is an investment in both your results and your health.
