When I was newly qualified, all the different terminology made colour feel WAY more complicated than it needed to be.

Toner. Gloss. Root shadow. Root melt.
What do I actually need to use?

✨ Toner/Gloss- refines or enhances the tone whilst enhancing shine.

✨ Root Shadow- when I want to soften the root/foil lines but still keep the overall result bright.

✨ Root Melt- when I want more depth through the root and a longer, softer transition into the blonde.

And sometimes?

I don’t use a root shadow OR root melt.

If my placement already gives me the blend and natural depth I want, I’m not adding one just because it’s a lived-in blonde.

That’s the bit I wish someone had taught me sooner.
