WHAT TREATMENTS SHOULD YOU BE HAVING… AND WHEN? 👀

Following on from my last post about knowing when enough is enough, another question I’m asked all the time is:

“What should I be having at my age?”

And my answer?

Your age doesn’t decide your treatment. Your face does.

I’m 44. What treatments have I had?

A LOT 😂

Microneedling.
Lip filler.
Cheek filler.
Botox.
Skin boosters.
PRP.
Polynucleotides.

That’s the point.

It’s not necessarily about how many treatments you’ve had. It’s about what you have, when you have it, how much you have and knowing when to stop. Having a great Practitioner to guide you through this process definitely helps. @

In your 20s, for most people, it’s about prevention and skin health.
SPF. Good skincare. Facials, peels and treatments that protect the skin you already have. You don’t automatically need filler or Botox because you’ve hit 25.

In your 30s, we may start noticing early lines, changes in texture or the first little signs of volume loss. This is where subtle, carefully considered treatments can come in — alongside really good skin treatments.

In your 40s, our skin starts behaving differently. Collagen and elasticity reduce and hormonal changes can begin to show in the face. Often my focus shifts towards skin quality, collagen stimulation and subtle rejuvenation rather than simply adding volume. This is where most people start to panic and probably where most clients will start exploring with injectables.

In your 50s and beyond, it’s still not about trying to look 25. It’s about working with the face you have now, improving skin quality, restoring balance where appropriate and helping you look fresh, rested and still completely YOU.

And sometimes, at any age, my recommendation will be…

Nothing.

Because good aesthetics isn’t about finding a treatment to sell you.

It’s about knowing what to treat, when to treat it and when to leave well alone!

WHEN IS IT TOO MUCH?

It’s a conversation we probably don’t have enough in aesthetics but one that i have often with my clients.

A little tweak here. A top-up there. Then suddenly we stop seeing what everyone else sees.

For me, good aesthetics should never be about chasing perfection or changing your face and choosing practitioner that respects this is important.

It should be about softening, balancing and enhancing what’s already there.

Sometimes the best treatment I can give you is actually saying no and i do say NO. If i don't think that you need it, i won't do it simple!

No more filler.

No treatment just because we can.

I want my clients to still look like themselves — fresher, more confident, but still them.

Because the goal should never be for someone to look at you and think, “She’s had loads of work done.”

It should be…

“You look really well.”

There’s a conversation I have almost daily in clinic… "I’m scared of filler.”
