This gorgeous Mother of the Bride was all set to have her hair and makeup done... until the hair stylist she'd booked didn't turn up. 🙈
Cue a little panic. 🤯
Thankfully, I always keep my hair kit in the car "just in case," so we took a deep breath, changed the plan and I created this elegant, soft updo for her too.
By the end of the morning she was calm, smiling and ready to enjoy every second of her son's wedding, exactly as it should be.
It's a little reminder that experience matters. Weddings rarely run perfectly, but having someone who can adapt, problem solve and keep everything feeling relaxed can make all the difference.

You know when you catch a little glimpse of yourself and think... yep, I feel good today?

Well, this bridesmaid moment was one of those, and I’ll never forget it. 🥰

I was finishing up her makeup, and just as the hairstylist stepped back, she paused and said:

“Wow, you look amazing… it’s like your skin, but better.”

Honestly? That lights me up! Because that’s exactly what I aim for.... makeup that doesn’t mask who you are, it celebrates it.

Soft, radiant skin. A glow that catches the light. And a smile that says I feel beautiful, but still me.

"I haven't had my makeup done since about 2012..."
That's what she told me as she sat in my chair.
It's amazing how many women stop booking their makeup because life gets busy, confidence takes a knock, or they worry their skin has changed too much.
We chatted about her skin, what she was comfortable with, and what she didn't want. She has acne scarring and some active breakouts, so the goal was never to mask who she is or cake on heavy foundation.
Instead, I used techniques and products that evened out her complexion while still looking like her. Soft, fresh, elegant and comfortable to wear all day.
No makeup can erase skin texture, and I would never want to create unrealistic expectations. But the right products, the right application and understanding how light works on the skin can make such a difference.
Seeing her smile when she looked in the mirror reminded me exactly why I love what I do. 🤍

Those were the words this lovely Mother of the Bride said to me.
She was so apprehensive before we started because she just doesn't wear makeup.
Then she said something I hear so often...
"Foundation usually sits in all my creases, so I don't wear it anymore... but this is lovely." 🥹
The secret wasn't using more makeup. It was using the right makeup.
Instead of a traditional foundation, I used a skin tint that's packed with skincare ingredients. It feels lightweight, doesn't sit heavily on the skin and gives just enough coverage to even out the complexion while still letting her skin look like... well, her skin.
My goal is never to make you look like someone else. It's to help you still recognise yourself when you look in the mirror, just feeling that little bit fresher, brighter and more confident.
Judging by the number of times she told me she loved it, I think we achieved exactly that. ❤️
