Luxury has historically been shaped by a relatively narrow set of cultural references, and the knowledge, materials and rituals of Africa have too often been positioned outside that conversation, or introduced to it only after being “discovered” and reinterpreted elsewhere.

Luyana was built from a different premise.

Pressed from the seeds of the wild melon that grows across the Kalahari Desert — one of the harshest, driest environments on earth.

The San people have used it for generations as a skin protector against extreme heat, wind and sun. An ingredient the desert itself made resilient.

For the skin, Kalahari melon seed oil is exceptionally rich in linoleic acid, an essential fatty acid the skin cannot produce itself and must receive from the outside.
