Praised for “one of the most perfect Strauss voices one could wish for” (Classical Source) and “a voice of silver brightness and clarity” (Bachtrack), Chen has established a distinguished international career across the world’s leading opera houses and concert stages.

She has appeared at the Bavarian State Opera, Vienna State Opera, Teatro alla Scala, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées and Semperoper Dresden, and has performed with orchestras including the Berlin Philharmonic, Vienna Philharmonic, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic and Orchestre de Paris.

Highlights of the 2026/27 season include Mahler’s Symphonies Nos. 2, 4 and 8, Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis and Ninth Symphony, Strauss’ Four Last Songs, and performances with conductors including Tarmo Peltokoski, Klaus Mäkelä, Lahav Shani, Philippe Jordan and Rafael Payare.

Chen’s discography includes recordings for Pentatone and Deutsche Grammophon, and alongside her performing career she is dedicated to mentoring young singers through teaching, masterclasses and her own training initiatives.

Tarmo Peltokoski conducts Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte in a new production at Opernhaus Zürich (Opernhaus Zürich), directed by Daniele Finzi Pasca. The production opens the 2026/27 opera season on September 20.
