If your stylist doesn’t do this WALK AWAY ⬇️

Cutting and blending is absolutely essential during an extension installation. The sound on this reel is literally me screaming at the screen whenever I see it being missed!! 😅😂

It’s not about taking away your new length, it’s not about thinning your new density, it’s literally about making your investment look like your natural hair, but better 💯

No one wants to hear ‘Your extensions look great!’

Everyone wants to hear ‘Your hair looks great!’ 👏🏻

So talk with your Stylist and make sure it’s part of your installation service. It makes an incredible difference!

Love learning what to ask your Stylist for when you get your hair done? Make sure you follow because it’s what we do here 😘

When you can’t buy what you need, you CREATE it ⬇️

No hate on factory made bonds here. They are perfect for a lot of clients so there’s zero reason not to use them for ‘them’.

But what if factory bonds are….
❌ the wrong colour keratin
❌ way to big for the size bond you need
❌ too heavy for your hair to hold
❌ too thick which makes bonds bulky
❌ too tall (again with the bulky bonds)
❌ too wide for different areas of your head
❌ too obvious (think of the dreaded noodle look)

Customizing your bonds may be necessary for your hair type OR you simply just want nothing but the absolute best for your hair.

All extensions can change the length and density of the hair.

THESE extensions make people think you grew it yourself 👌🏻

If you’d like to learn more how customizing could work for you drop ‘Custom’ in the comments 👇🏻 and we’ll reach out to get the conversation started!

Where do you think we go to find Education and Classes? ⬇️

You might be surprised to know that the most saturated niches on Instagram are Fashion & Beauty. That means that not only are you using it for inspiration pictures, but your Stylist is also using it to discover new techniques in all parts of the world.

It’s not about just watching a random video though. Sure we may get little ideas from a 7 second clip here and there, but more importantly, it’s where we find educators 💯

Independent Education (and its exposure via Instagram) has completely changed how Hairstylists learn. The only place we used to have access to classes were through our local suppliers. Logically (for them 😆) these were presented by the product brands they already sold, with the goal of selling more.

Don’t get me wrong, I found some good education like that back in the day BUT what’s happening now has changed everything, and IMO for the better.

Independent Educators don’t teach for the goal of selling a brands products, they teach for the goal of levelling up a Hairstylist’s skills. It doesn’t matter what colour or lightener you use, what type of extensions you work with or what stying products your salon carries. All that matters to an independent educator is that you walk away with skills you can implement the next time you stand behind the chair to achieve better results.

This is how Danielle found her in-depth KTip Extension education.
This is how Jen found education for Mesh and ScalpD.
This is how the team found this year’s Scalp Foils class in Arizona.

Some educators offer classes online and some offer both in-person and online.
Instagram isn’t where the education actually happens, it’s simply the access point.

And I for one am SO grateful it’s here 🥰

You may not like it but you HAVE to be OK with…. ⬇️

1️⃣ Having different curl patterns in different areas. You can minimize the difference through styling but it will always be there.

2️⃣ It looking different every time you style it. You can follow the same routine, use the same products and it will still turn out slightly different. Variety is the spice of life, just go with it!

3️⃣ You can’t achieve lots of volume without embracing a little frizz. Contrary to popular belief frizz is not the enemy 🤷🏼‍♀️

Naturally curly hair isn’t perfect so stop trying to make it that way. You CAN wear your curls successfully with a little acceptance and a whole lot of practice 💯

Make sure you’re following because there’s a wash day curl tutorial coming real soon!!

Adding more blonde isn’t the answer but THIS is 👇🏻

✨ Dimension ✨

In order for blonde to ‘pop’ it needs to be laying against a colour that provides contrast.

It’s important to remember that adding contrast does not have to mean adding something super dark. A general rule of thumb is to leave 3 levels of difference between colours in order to create that pop, but you can always do less than that! The results will be softer but it will allow you to dip your toe in the dimension pool without diving allllll the way in 😉

This before and after by Miranda was the perfect example of how this works and the results are so stunning!

Did you know that we offer a $60 New Client Voucher to put towards your very first colour/cut service at the Studio? If you’d like to grab yours just pop ‘New’ below ⬇️ and we’ll be in touch to get you all looked after 💕

Platinum is so high maintenance but why does it HAVE to be? ⬇️

When converting someone from a highlight or balayage to an all over platinum, there is ALWAYS a discussion about maintenance.

The most even root to end blonde results require 4-6 week retouches. It has absolutely nothing to do with having you come in more frequently (although of course we love to see you 😘), but everything to do with how much regrowth, and in what ‘zone’ we are lightening during the appointment.

Sounds a little sus I know, but here’s why it matters 📖👇🏻

Stylists break down all lightening applications into 3 zones:

Zone 1️⃣ The first 1/2” of regrowth out from your scalp. How quickly you reach that 1/2” depends on your growth rate. You may reach that 1/2” in 4 weeks where someone else may take 6 weeks. Your scalp creates heat which affects ONLY this 1/2” area. Anything over 1/2” takes us into…..

Zone 2️⃣ The heat from the scalp does not affect the hair in this zone and the colour results will be completely different. Zone 1 lifts to a beautiful pale yellow and Zone 2 will be darker and significantly warmer. This is what creates ‘bands’ of different blondes from the scalp to the ends.

Zone 3️⃣ Only applies for those with long hair and those with compromised ends, which is another post entirely 🙃

How long you leave your regrowth is totally up to you. If you want to leave it for 6 months you can go right ahead and do that! 💯

Just remember that roots past 1/2” run the risk of banding and require a completely different application method and amount of product, which is of course reflected in your price.

For the lightest, most even blonde 4-6 weeks is your best bet!
