Knowledgeable distributor of safe, research-based Shaklee health products for Canadians. Guaranteed. Always safe. Always work. Always green.

Health and Nutrition have been my passions for most of my life! I earned a degree in Nutrition and worked as a hospital dietitian and a public health nutritionist for many years! Coincidentally, I was the dietitian in a pediatric cystic fibrosis clinic when our son, Devin was born and subsequently diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. My experience in the health care field told me that Devin’s quality of life could be greatly impacted by optimal nutrition, so I set out on a lifelong quest for the very best in nutritional support for him and for our family. I have had the privilege of being one of my son’s partners in creating a healthy life, and together we have chosen Shaklee products to support his healthy lifestyle. Our confidence in Shaklee quality is unshakeable, and I believe it has helped to provide the foundation for a very bright future for Devin. It has been my deepest desire to weave the strands of wellness into my own life and the lives of those around me. Shaklee is a company of great integrity, sound research, and unparalleled quality assurance. I have found it to be in complete harmony with my lifelong passion to share health with others, with love.

One of the most fascinating things about the immune system is that it can learn.

Your body has the ability to recognize certain things it has encountered before.

This is part of what scientists call immune memory.

It’s one example of how complex and adaptable the human body is.

Your immune system isn't simply reacting randomly.

It is constantly gathering information, communicating, and adjusting.

The more we understand about immune health, the more we realize that supporting our bodies is about supporting a highly intelligent system.

And like any system, it needs the right environment to function well.

Most of us think about our immune system when something goes wrong.

Someone gets sick.
Cold and flu season arrives.
We start feeling run down.

But your immune system doesn't switch on only when you feel unwell.

It is a complex network of cells, tissues, organs, and signaling molecules that is continuously working to recognize what is happening in the body and coordinate an appropriate response.

That means immune health is not just about what you do when you feel sick.

It's also about the foundation you build when you feel perfectly fine.

Adequate nutrition.
Quality sleep.
Regular movement.
Hydration.
Stress management.

And getting the nutrients your body needs.

Vitamin C is one of those nutrients. It contributes to normal immune function and also acts as an antioxidant, helping protect cells from oxidative stress.

One interesting thing about vitamin C is that our bodies don't make it, and we don't have a large storage reserve of it.
So consistency matters.

Your immune system is working every day. Supporting it can be part of your everyday routine, too.

💬 Had you ever thought about immune health this way?

We tend to think about immune health reactively.

Someone gets sick.
The weather changes.
Everyone around us starts coughing.

And suddenly we think:
“What should I be doing for my immune system?”

But what if we changed the question?

Instead of:
“What do I need right now?”

Ask:
“What am I doing consistently?”

That's a very different approach.

It puts the focus back on the things we can influence every day—nutrition, sleep, movement, hydration, recovery, and the nutrients that support normal immune function.

No panic.
No perfection.

Just a routine that supports the body before we need to ask it to do more.

That's proactive wellness.

Back-to-school season changes more than the school schedule.

It changes routines.
More people in shared spaces.
Different sleep schedules.
Busier mornings.
More activities.
Less downtime.

That doesn't mean we need to become anxious about every interaction your kids or your grandkids have.

It simply gives us a reason to think proactively about the basics that support healthy immune function for them.

Instead of waiting for the first sign that something feels off, this can be a good time to ask:

Are their everyday routines supporting their bodies well?

Because immune health isn't just a September conversation.

But September can be a good reminder to pay attention to it.

We often talk about NAD+ as though it’s something associated only with aging.

But there’s a much bigger story.

NAD+ is already part of what your cells are doing every day. ⚡

It’s a coenzyme involved in cellular metabolism and plays an important role in processes connected to how cells produce and use energy.

Think about everything your body asks of your cells during an ordinary day.

Walking. Thinking. Digesting. Exercising. Recovering. Repairing.

There’s an enormous amount happening behind the scenes.

That’s one reason NAD+ has become such an interesting area of research: scientists are continuing to investigate its role in cellular function and how NAD+ biology changes across the lifespan.

So instead of thinking:
“Why should I care about NAD+ as I get older?”

Maybe the more interesting question is:
“What is NAD+ already doing inside my cells right now?” 🔬

And that’s where this conversation gets really interesting.

I always thought of cardio as being mostly about the heart and lungs.

Then I learned more about VO₂ max.

Turns out, there's quite a team involved.

Your lungs have to bring oxygen in.
Your heart and blood vessels have to deliver it.
Your muscles have to receive it.
And your cells have to put that oxygen to work.

So VO₂ max isn't really a measurement of just one part of you.

It's more like a snapshot of how well this whole system works together during demanding activity.

I think that's what makes it so interesting.

Our bodies are doing incredibly complicated things every time we take a brisk walk or climb a flight of stairs and most of the time, we don't even think about it.
