🚩 RMT RED FLAGS — PART 1

Massage therapy should never be a pain tolerance competition.

If you’ve ever been told “it has to hurt to work,” promised that your RMT can “put your bones back in place,” or made to feel like you shouldn’t question what’s happening during your treatment… 🚩🚩🚩

You deserve to understand what’s being done to your body, feel comfortable speaking up, and have your treatment tailored to you.

And if something doesn’t feel right? Say something. A good therapist will want you to. 🤍

More red flags coming… 👀

What’s something a therapist has said to you that made you go “…wait, WHAT?” 😂👇

That neck tension that keeps coming back? 👀

Stress, long days, screens, workouts, driving, posture, and simply carrying too much can all leave us feeling tight through the neck and shoulders.

Sometimes your body doesn’t need you to push harder.

It needs a pause. 🤍

Take a breath. Drop your shoulders. Give yourself a moment to reset.

And if your neck has been asking for some attention lately… maybe listen to it. ✨

That tight spot might not be the whole story. 👀

Our bodies are constantly adapting to how we move, work, sit, sleep, breathe, and compensate.

So instead of only chasing the sore spot, I like to look at the bigger picture and ask:

“Why is this area working so hard in the first place?”

Because sometimes the best treatment starts with looking beyond the symptom. 🤍

Sometimes they don’t need us to fix anything.

They just need a quiet moment.

A little gentle touch.
A little connection.
A little time to slow down and simply feel cared for. 🤍

Massage isn’t always about pain or tension. Sometimes it’s about creating a moment of calm and connection in an otherwise busy day.

And honestly… I think we could all use a little more of that. 🫶

If your shoulders are somewhere around your ears right now…

Drop them. 😂

A lot of us spend the day unconsciously bracing through our neck, shoulders and jaw.

Massage can be a great opportunity to slow down, release some of that tension and simply take a pause.

Your body doesn’t need to earn rest. 🤍

Save this as your reminder to check your shoulders today.

Babies hold tension too. 🤍

Their little bodies are constantly learning how to move, digest, regulate, sleep, and take in the world around them. Sometimes, gentle touch can be a beautiful way to help them slow down and reconnect with their bodies.

Infant massage may help support:
✨ Relaxation
✨ Digestion
✨ Body awareness
✨ Gentle mobility
✨ Connection + bonding

And one of my favourite parts? It doesn’t have to be complicated.

You don’t need a perfect routine or 10-30 minutes of uninterrupted time. Sometimes it’s simply a few intentional minutes of touch, presence, and connection with your baby.

As a mom and an RMT, I know how precious — and how chaotic 😂 — those little moments can be.

Save this for the next quiet moment with your little one. 🤍

The part of being an RMT that I love most?

Getting to meet people where their body is that day.

Sometimes that means deeper work. Sometimes it means slowing things down. Sometimes the most useful thing we can do is simply give the nervous system a little room to breathe.

I’m going to share more of the real-life, behind-the-scenes side of massage therapy here — the science, the little things I geek out over, and the things I’ve learned along the way. 🤍

POV: you came in for a shoulder massage and I started working on your forearms… 👀

And suddenly you’re like…

“OH. THAT’S the spot.” 😂

We use our hands and forearms ALL. DAY.
Typing. Scrolling. Driving. Lifting. Carrying kids. Opening approximately 47 containers that apparently require the strength of a powerlifter…

And then we wonder why everything feels tight. 😂

Sometimes the spot that hurts isn’t the only spot that needs attention.

Your body is sneaky like that. 🤷‍♀️

Who else has chronically tight forearms? 👇

Kids get massages too!

If they are in sports and have an injury they are working through, with landing wrong in volleyball or staying in awkward positions while reading or using the iPad there are tons of reasons kids come in for treatment.

Students and kids deserve some self care time aswell💕

Double check you kids are on your benefits and bring them in I’m sure they would love a moment just for them 🤗
