Honestly.. Toners are one of THE most underrated services in the salon world. In my opinion anyways.

I think that most people who even know what a toner is, think it is just something that is used after highlights to “take out the yellow.” While that is the case a lot of the time.. they are so much more versatile than just that.

Toners can completely shift the look and feel of your hair without the commitment of permanent color or another round of foils.
Toners are meant to soften harsh lines, add depth and richness to brunettes, neutralize unwanted warmth in blondes, and make it feel more natural. They can refresh faded coppers and restore vibrancy… and last but certainly not least, they can lower your maintenance dramatically!

THIS is the power of a toner. 👏🏼

My guest today actually came in booked for a full permanent color.. She was tired of the upkeep of blonde (and the price tag attached) and thought going darker was the only option.

After a thorough consultation, I suggested we take a softer approach first.

Instead of fully covering everything with permanent color, we strategically toned her existing blonde to blend beautifully with her natural level and softly diffuse the contrast between her natural grow-out and her lighter ends.

The result?
A soft, dimensional, expensive-looking blend that still feels bright and beautiful with WAY lower maintenance.

And the best part?
This transformation was done in about an hour and a half with JUST a toner service. 🤍

No heavy permanent color.
No harsh grow-out line.
No major commitment.

Now she’ll likely get another 6+ weeks before needing a refresh while her natural grey softly blends back in.

Honestly… I impressed myself with this one. 😮‍💨🤍🥲
