And light doesn't wrap around corners to find you. It travels straight from the source and warms what it hits — your skin is mostly water, absorbs it, and turns it into heat you feel. Which means a heater can only warm the part of you it can see.
No heater in front of you? The front of you is in shade. Nothing down at your feet or calves? Also shade.
So read a heater layout like a lighting plan. You want all four sides covered — five sides on a corner model — plus foot and calf heaters. If part of you sits in shade, part of you stays cooler. Once you see it that way, you can't unsee it.
