お盆 — OBON | A Season of Remembering

Every August, Japan pauses to remember.

Obon (お盆) is a centuries-old tradition honoring ancestors. Families return home, visit ancestral graves, make offerings, and light lanterns to welcome the spirits of loved ones back.

And when Obon ends, lights guide them on their journey once more.

More than a tradition, Obon carries a beautiful reminder:

In Japanese philosophy, Yoku means desire.
