With chillier weather around the corner, it’s a good time to rethink how we moisturize.
Dry, tight feeling skin often needs more than just hydration. As a formulator, I look for a balance of ingredients that attract moisture, soften the skin, and help lock in that moisture!

A reminder that preservation matters in cosmetics. A well preserved formula helps protect the product from unwanted microbial growth, keeping it safe, stable, and enjoyable to use.
And from an entrepreneurial perspective take notes from the bacteria, but with better intentions: find opportunities, adapt to challenges, and keep growing, even when the market is crowded or the door wasn’t exactly open. Just make sure you’re adding value, NOT contaminating someone’s lotion.

Biotech is redefining “natural”: science can create nature-inspired ingredients that are effective, consistent, and more sustainable.
Something that is not talked about enough when making cosmetics is the importance of keeping proper batch records.
Every batch should have a clear record of what was made, when it was made, which ingredients and lot numbers were used, quantities, processing details, and any observations or adjustments along the way.
Because when something goes wrong or when a batch turns out exceptionally well you need to know exactly what happened!
Good batch records aren’t just paperwork. They’re what help you maintain consistency, traceability, quality, and confidence in your products.
